The 11 Obama "assassination attempts" include (not making this up) - a Hispanic man shot 25 rounds at the White House from his truck when Obama was in another state - an accountant was at a waffle house when he said he wanted to kill Obama - an extremist Irish Islamist gave an interview to a major newspaper and said he wished that he could assassinate Obama - a "death ray" plot in which 2 rednecks planned to use x-rays to kills Obama (and also Jews) - a Walking Dead actress sent Obama a letter with ricin in an attempt to incriminate her husband
Tyler Black, MD@tylerblack32

Obama: 11, including a guy who fired 25 rifle rounds at the White House. Biden: 5, including one arrested 4 miles from his house with an AR-15 and a checklist ending "execute." Harris: 2 federal prosecutions. Clinton: a pipe bomb intercepted at her home and a militia.

Ok here goes: I was a full time Public Defender for over 6 years. I have been in private practice now (for the second time) for 16 years. I still take public defender cases on a contract basis and those cases make up about 15% of my practice. So since 2004 I have literally represented thousands of homeless clients and I can say the pathetic stories you have been told by the media, by TV & movies, and by those organizations that “help” the homeless is 100% BS. Let’s start: Claim 1) “You’re just one paycheck away from being homeless.” None, NONE, of the people chronically on the street were working and then were on the street after losing a good job. Less than 5% of the people who become homeless are there because of some personal tragedy like losing a job, a natural disaster, or a death in the family. Those that are homeless due to such an event do not stay homeless for long. They avail themselves of the MANY available services, both public and private, and are back on their feet within short order. These people help themselves and I know of no person who objects to assisting these folks as they help themselves and are just trying to get from point A to point B and then get back to supporting themselves. BUT, if you listen to the media, entertainment, and the homeless assistance grifters, this 5% represents ALL chronically homeless families folks. It’s a lie. Claim 2) “If you give the homeless free or subsidized housing they will soon be supporting themselves as responsible citizens” Absolute BS. 100 % of the chronically (not temporarily) homeless fall into 2 categories: A) those that are severely mentally ill &/or drug addicted B) People that just do not want to work, pay rent, or live as responsible human beings. I have a LOT of personal experience with both groups but let me begin with Group B. I have seen hundreds of these types and no matter what assistance is offered them, they only avail themselves of any help long enough to get some money and a warm bed for a bit, and then are back to “flying a sign” at an intersection. They don’t WANT to work a steady job. They don’t WANT to be responsible for paying rent or a mortgage or bills. They don’t WANT to live like normal folks. They want to get money by begging and then go buy booze or drugs and party at the homeless encampment at night. They literally live like perpetual hippies. Many of them can stand in the hot sun for 8 hours at a time taking money for suckers so they have the ability to work for a living BUT THEY DON’T WANT TO! They even work out shifts at the street corners with their buddies. One dude is there till lunch, one dude works the afternoon. “Flying a sign” is the grift. “Homeless vet” “Down and out” “Got laid off” You’ve all seen them. It’s. A. Grift. You are being conned. Big cities shuffle these guys to other cities by giving them free bus trips. Hundreds of homeless in southwest Missouri are shipped here every month from cities like Chicago and Memphis. They move from town to town and get free meals, clothes, bus passes, and other goodies and find a new intersection and a new camp and restart the grift over and over. To get transitional housing they would need to keep a regular job and not drink and not do drugs. They don’t want that. These folks are not alcoholics or addicts in the clinical sense, they just want to live off the charity of others and party at night. They are like perpetual teenagers and they never grow beyond that mentally as long as there are enough suckers to subsidize their lifestyle. The organizations that help the homeless, even religious ones, exist for federal & state grant money. They get more funding for every homeless person they “help.” They have zero incentive to make their “assistance” dependent upon a homeless person making any responsible changes. Thus the more homeless assistance organizations you have in your town, the more homeless people you will have. The cycle never ends Continued
Cardinal Curmudgeon@Gimblin

@homeless_law As a former Public Defender who has represented hundreds of homeless clients I support laws like this 100%! I will be showing this bill to several state legislators I know here in Missouri and offer to testify in support of such a bill if submitted in the Legislature.

One reason I don’t take progressive “fairness” arguments all that seriously is this way in which they present themselves as nonplussed by the idea that there’s any fairness component at all to taking rich people’s money

What exactly is the argument against a pied-a-terre tax for second (or third / fourth / fifth) homes worth more than $5 million owned by people who do not even live in the city? It just seems like such a glaringly obvious common-sense policy.

The only change I see is that Cato is excluding the Oklahoma City bombing in some analyses, possibly because I criticized Nowrahsteh for this last month on stack. More importantly, THERE IS NO DATASET. Cato doesn't provide the data, so there's nothing we can do with this. (There are no links and the Appendix section is mysteriously blank.) Cato is a trash outlet now, and Nowrahsteh is a charlatan, not a scholar of any description. All he does is list several "sources" for his undisclosed dataset, but there's no way to know what he did or how he coded anything based on that. We need the actual data file. This is science, not a swap meet. Incredibly, Cato includes "incels" as right-wing. He claims it doesn't make a big difference, but that's irrelevant given that we can't see the data and that it's still completely unjustified. You don't do invalid things, no matter what the numbers are or what difference it makes. This is Nowrahsteh's justification for counting incels as right-wing. He asserts that they're anti-women and socially misogynistic. What does that have to do with conservatives? Are conservatives anti-women? How? Are they more anti-women than leftists who want to let predatory men stand naked in a high school girls' locker room, let men crash women's sports, and support the mutilation of over 5,000 girls age 12+? More fundamentally, what does being "involuntarily celibate" have to do with conservatism, or any political ideology? It's not a conservative ideology, at all. 1/x

In 2022, two years into the quadrupling of non-EU immigration from 294,000 in 2020 to 1,132,000 in 2023, non-white people living in Britain were twice as likely to be unemployed (6%) as White British (3%). Black people were slightly more than half as likely to be unemployed (7%). And among Pakistanis and Bangladeshis the unemployment rate was 3 times as high (9%). Even among Indians it was slightly higher (4%), and among all Asians it was, again, twice the unemployment rate (6%) of White Britons. Contrary to the lies we are told about Britain needing immigrants to keep our economy going, every racial and ethnic category has a higher unemployment rate than the White British. And these figures only apply to ‘economically active’ persons who are available for work. So taking into account the far larger families of immigrants from non-EU countries in comparison to the White British population, these proportions of British unemployed to foreign unemployed are likely to be far worse. In 2022 — the most recent year for which the Office for National Statistics has published figures — 159,400 Asians, 82,100 Black and 33,300 Mixed-race people were unemployed in the UK. That a total of 274,800 people, equal to the population of Sunderland, and over a third the number of White British people unemployed (772,500) in the UK. No-one who lives in Britain will be surprised by the unemployment rate among Black people, whose disproportionate poverty — with 46% of all people in Black households living in poverty in 2020 — is an indictment in itself of UK immigration policy since the Second World War. But the image we are sold of the industrious, hard-working, self-employed, self-sufficient Asian immigrant is a myth invented by the propagandists of replacement immigration. The other myth we’ve been sold is that, without immigrants, the National Health Service would collapse, and that, as Jeremy Corbyn and his fellow ideologues on the woke-Left never tire of telling us, immigration is supplying urgently needed doctors, scientists and engineers who are making a net contribution to the UK’s finances. This is a demonstrable lie. In reality, figures published in September 2024 by the Office for Budget Responsibility show that, of the previous 3.6 million work visas granted to the UK, only 12% went to high-skilled workers — which the OBS defines as earning 30% more than the average UK salary of £33,000 in 2024 — and whose presence here, therefore, benefits the UK economy. As for the woke-Left’s fantasy of immigrant scientists and engineers, these made up just 0.6% of those visas, while doctors only made up 0.8%. The endlessly circulated image of immigrant doctors, scientists and engineers coming to Britain to save our failing public services in what is still the sixth largest economy in the world is as deliberately an inaccurate picture of immigration to Britain as the narrative of ‘stop the boats’. Overall, only 5% of immigrants contribute to the UK economy as high-skilled workers. And for every £1 they contribute, low-skilled immigrants, of which there are far more, cost the economy £1.60. And that’s not including their dependents, which more than double their numbers. Even among skilled workers, 72% of visas issued in 2022-23 went to workers earning below the UK average salary; and a barely credible 54% went to those earning half the average salary. As a result, by the time they are 66 years of age, each low-skilled immigrant — that is, earning 50% below the average UK salary — will cost the UK taxpayer £151,000 in welfare, housing, child, education and health benefits. At the average life-expectancy in the UK of 81 years, that tax burden rises to an astonishing £465,000. The Office for Budget Responsibility projects various scenarios for what impact this will have on public debt, which at the end of December 2025 stood at 95.5% of GDP excluding public sector banks. In fifty years’ time, the OBR projects scenarios of UK debt increasing from between 225% and 350% of GDP. Importantly, they demonstrate that raising the average earnings of migrants or reducing how long they stay in Britain will not alter this long-run debt dynamic. ‘Debt still rises substantially across the projection period’, they conclude, ‘and is on an unsustainable trajectory at the end of the fifty-year period.’ A year after the OBR report, in November 2025 the number of claims for Universal Credit had increased by 1.1 million to 8.3 million people, up from 7.2 million the previous year. And the number of people who were not required to work (i.e. in full-time education, over the state pension age, with a child aged under 1, or who are considered to have no prospect of work), had also increased by 1.1 million to 4 million, constituting some 48.7% of all Universal Credit claimants. Even before 3.5 million unskilled immigrants from non-EU countries came to Britain in the last 5 years, between 2019 and 2020, 75% of Bangladeshi and 72% of Pakistani households were in the two lowest income quintiles (In contrast, 42% of White British households fell into the top two income quintiles.) Pakistani nationals also received the highest total amount of tax credits payments at £580 million, and the highest total amount of Child Benefit payments at £149 million, of any non-UK nationals. Blacks paid the least in taxes (£9,100) and received the most in benefits (£15,500). This data was published by HM Revenues and Customs, ‘Income Tax, National Insurance contributions, Tax Credits and Child Benefit Statistics for Non-UK Nationals: 2019 to 2020’ (25 August, 2022). However, as part of the censorship of the universally negative effects of replacement immigration on the UK, which increased in 2021 with the huge rise in the number of immigrants from non-EU countries, this was the last time HMRC published such analysis. Last year, however, the Office for National Statistics revealed that, in the year ending 2023/24, White people were the only ethnic group in the UK to make a net fiscal contribution (+£1,444). Asians (£-4,135), Blacks (-£4,584), Mixed-race (-£,5,545) and ‘other’ races (-£,5,360) all made a negative fiscal contribution. Even this in inaccurate, however, as it includes Chinese and Indian households with the overwhelmingly unskilled, low-income, unemployed and economically inactive Muslim population of Britain. Even without the daily stabbings and gang rapes of our women and children, without our streets being turned into third-world slums, without the destruction of British culture for the barbarisms of Islam, without the takeover of our politics and civil society by foreigners who hate Britain and the British, without the race swapping and erasure of our history, there is nothing good that immigration brings to Britain. NOTHING. Immigrants are here for one reason, and one reason only: to doss off us while turning Britain into a mirror of the Islamic dictatorships from which they came in South Asia, sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. Anyone saying otherwise is either an idiot or a liar. If you’re tired of paying the highest taxes in Europe to support an immigrant population of breeders and dole bludgers being paid to vote for Muslim MPs, attend hate marches whenever the woke-Left tells them to, and hang around our streets and parks raping British women and children while living off our taxes, and want to know what we, the British people, can do about it, please consider purchasing a copy of my new book, The Great Replacement and the Islamisation of Britain. "The Flynn Effect" of rising IQ's across the industrialized world is typically cited by anti-hereditarians with hopes that gaps will close as disparities of health and human welfare level off between groups. Toward the end of his James Flynn himself said black IQ's weren't rising because black parents don't create cognitively enriching environments for their children: "In the late 1970s, an experiment took 46 black adoptees and gave half to black professional families and half to white professionals with all the mothers having 16 years of education. When their IQs were tested at eight-and-a-half, the white-raised kids were 13.5 IQ points ahead. The mothers were asked to do problem-solving with their children. Universally, the blacks were impatient, the whites encouraging. Immediate achievement is rewarded in black subculture but not long-term achievement where you have to forgo immediate gratification.”

The gap itself is not in question. The debate is over whether the causes are hereditarian or environmental and if the latter, whether the environmental causes pertain to cultural deficits within the black community (this is the position taken by James Flynn, the psychometrician who observed rising IQ's across industrialized world -- a trajectory that had reversed by the time of his death in the US ) or to 'systemic racism." In practical terms, of course, the latter question doesn't really matter to a prospective employer: for cognitively demanding tasks, the distribution of those capable of doing the work will be different across groups. This could entirely be the fault of the warping effects of repeated triggering of adrenaline on the developing child's brain caused by racial microaggressions (every time someone asks to touch your hair reduces your IQ by a point, let's say): it would not change the fact that while there are roughly 60K white students who score above 700 on the Math SAT each year, 60K Asian who scored that high -- and 2K black students. This means that for any job for which the ability to score a 700 on the math SAT is table stakes, there would be roughly nine white candidates and sixty Asian candidates. Here is how the eminent Harvard sociologist Christopher Jencks characterized the IQ gap in the NYT back in 1998. He took an environmentalist position on the question, expressed optimism that the gap could close, but said doing so "would probably take more than one generation." I read that as saying "I'll be dead by the time this prediction can be tested." He died in February 2025.

The American Psychological Association has affirmed the existence of a 15-point mean IQ gap between US whites and blacks. There are no reputable scientists conducting research in this area who dispute the existence of racial gaps in measured intelligence. Why does this matter? It matters because the scientifically-established group IQ gaps (including the smaller one between Asians and whites) explain racial disparities in America far better than the phantom of "systemic" racism. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of studies that show IQ influences outcomes like educational attainment, income, SES, and crime. Why should we then not be surprised when groups with higher average IQs outperform those with lower IQs on these (and many other) outcomes.

Viktor Orban didn’t cancel any elections and never arrested people for social media posts. He also stepped down after his election loss and is partaking in a peaceful transfer of power. But, don’t forget, he was a dictator. Keir Starmer attempted to cancel about 1,000 local council elections next month and arrests about 12,000 people a year for social media posts. He also refused to let a rival run for a seat in a by-election because he was worried it would be a threat to his leadership. But, don’t forget, he’s a democratic leader.
