Just heard the sad news about Paul Auster. He wrote one of my favorite books: “The Book of Illusions”. It’s a story of a man who experienced a tragic loss and reconstructs himself by researching the work of a forgotten movie director. Auster invents and describes 1/2

Hi @eLife, going through recently advertised papers, I see that many say “All data generated or analyzed during this study are included in the manuscript…” but don’t share microscopy images even when it’s the core method of the paper. Doesn’t your policy consider images as data?

@florianjug @rita_strack @alhufton @CellPressNews Please, please let them know that this is not ok. A large majority of people use this option, which usually means “you’ll never see my data”. And sharing code without data is useless! If sharing all data is too complicated, at least a sample for running the code.

ipywidgets are a great tool with huge positive impact. But at the moment, the project is like a moving ship without a captain. It's public infrastructure that requires maintenance, and it needs financial support to be sustainable. A thread.
