This post is an excellent litmus test for understanding of just war theory.
Despite the fact that I can see how effective this would be, I must oppose it because the damage it would do to my enemy (who bashes in my mailbox) would far outweigh the good of saving my mailbox. Its disproportionality is opposed by our duty in charity (and even justice) to watch out even for the good of our enemies.
(Yes, by the way, I have had my mailbox bashed in by random vandals.)

I think it’s fair to speculate over whether Mikhaila Peterson is purposefully harming her father and infant child. One bizarre illness, used by the survivor to gain sympathy and clout, is one thing. Two! Claiming “demon attacks” is also extremely suspicious. She might be preemptively explaining away why there are no natural, reasonable explanations for the plight of her father and child.

Western democracies are in a game theoretical dead end because of this problem. Brokies will always, with certainty, vote to give themselves free things. You can’t ban this, because the brokies will vote in candidates to overturn the ban. The solution is to figure out a way to be on the receiving end of handouts, as opposed to those that work to furnish handouts for others. It’s the only way. In a country with a strong social fabric, perhaps this game theoretical problem can be avoided, but in our fragmented multicultural disasters there is no solution aside from getting in on the take.

I don’t like the Democrats. But if you want to affect any change in Republicans at all, you simply have to be willing to punish them by not voting or voting Democrat. Tit for tat strategy.
If your support for a political party is unconditional, then of course the party will not bend to your will, but rather the wills of those people whose support is conditional (donors, independents, etc.)
