@gurghi

Bad takes refugee. Had to be there, used to be there, no 'there' there... Lately I find I'm disinclined to reminisce/Except perhaps on such a night as this

there's too much TV. which means most of it that's supposed to be good is still not worth your time, or mine.

@MovieMeets @codyclarke yep—and I don’t find his work very political. TPS is about legacy & mortality, and even has religious considerations. that’s a long way from TDL… and he continues to explore how his style can be used to accentuate his humor. at this point I find Wes’ work more vital than PTA’s

@gurghi @codyclarke You think? I think his style is a parody of himself at this point and his trite political themes are pathetic.

this typifies the push-pull of anonymity & tribalism that plagues online spaces, and bleeds over IRL… like trying to correct a wikipedia page or contribute to a running reddit thread, self-appointed policemen run rampant.

out of nowhere cine2nerdle tagged me for “cheating,” which I can only assume is due to one or more of the best games I’ve played… no way I rank even in the top 10% and I have never so much as looked at another tab during a game.

so we’re doing this again… “fans” do not comprehend dramatic necessity or structure. Lucasfilm’s hubris was not in allowing reversals & subversion — it was assuming they didn’t need a plan and could just throw shit at the wall. which in IX was pretty much the case.

I had to enter my driver’s license number online just now, but realized in horror that I’d forgotten it I think that’s the big reason I obsess so much over Scrabble & Trivia: I *know* my cognitive functioning is beginning its irreparable decline, but don’t want to accept it yet.

@gurghi @spclsmthin Oh damn. I left that and his follow up behind. Was that the movie with David Warner?

It’s the original paperback release of the novel before it was ever considered to be made into a film. I was given a copy before I ever saw the shooting script and it’s very well written. Matter a fact, it’s much better than the screenplay that is rather turgid and insipid.

@spclsmthin Huh, I found this yesterday and just checked your bio. What a coincidence
