@GoalhangerPods @Keir_Starmer @almurray @James1940 @10DowningStreet 🔥He's got good genes. The PM’s Gt-Gfather – Gustavus Adolphus Starmer - was a driver in the ASC in WW1; his Gfather, Herbert ‘Bertie’ Starmer was in the Royal Artillery. Bertie's elder brother – Gustavus Edward – served in Italy: Surrey Yeomanry.

Happy Birthday U.S. Grant. The finest soldier to ever wear a US Army uniform. Destroyed Lee’s army, freed 4m from human bondage, destroyed slavery “the cause and pretext of the rebellion,” saved democracy and the United States of America.

The Stockbridge Company was a militia group formed in 1774 in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, a town populated by people of the Mohican, Housatonic, Wappinger, Tunxis, and Shawnee tribes. In an effort to protect their land and sovereignty, the company sided with the Patriot cause, fighting in battles such as Saratoga, Monmouth, and Boston. After the company was dissolved, the residents of Stockbridge faced continual incursions of their land and were eventually forced into modern-day Wisconsin.
