Peter Francis says he is still under psychiatric care. He says that he requires a trigger to set off his PTSD. That is anything to do with the Met Police and disorder. Says he cannot distinguish between any riot. Before he was in the #spycops he was a level 2 riot officer.

Suresh Grover points out The Monitoring Group isn't just a campaigning organisation. They work with local authorities to help victims of racial violence, with the police on public interest cases. Totally legitimate lawful work, targeted by #spycops

I've been holding the Met to account about the way they policed @PSCupdates protest on 18 Jan. 150 people contacted me about witnessing police violence towards children & older people & experiences of kettling, being misled + police misinformation. 1/2

BBC radio4 news talking about 'migrant hostels'. These people are refugees, asylum seekers, entitled to a roof while their applications are considered. It's not their fault the Home Office isn't fit for purpose. @BBCRadio4 @BBCNews please don't stoke prejudice.

We return to the Joy Gardiner campaign. Trevor Morris claims he spoke at one event, asked if he knows which one, Morris claims it was in the civic centre, close to the march. Thinks it was from before the acquittal of the police officers who murdered her. #spycops

@FitzFromWHpod @dwallacewells Prof Guillermo Rein, Professor of Fire Science, Imperial College London: “A decade ago, Arctic wildfires were considered rare events, hardly ever studied. Now they are happening in all summer sessions and at increasing burn scar," he told the BBC. bbc.com/news/articles/…

Such a beautiful scene (and a beautiful bicycle!), photographed in colour 115 years ago, in the summer of 1909. These were the daughters of the The Lumière brothers, Auguste & Louis, who had patented their autochrome colour photo process six years previously. The girls' names were Andrée Lumière (daughter of Auguste) & Suzanne Lumière (daughter of Louis). There are a number of shots of the girls together - in this one they have swapped hats! Young Andrée Lumière (on the left) died in 1918 at the awfully young age of 24, having succumbed to the Spanish Influenza virus, which had killed up to 50 million people across the world. This enhanced photo is original colour (not colourised).

@redballoonsue @BOblivius @StuartHumphryes Working out how the pivot points are set up, these brakes look like rod not cable transmission and would push not pull. My impression is street bikes generally had rod brakes until a few decades ago & they're still to be seen on vintage models.

@TTBrandst @99blackbaloons Well, yes, but surely the problem is unpredictability? Will next spring be dry, cold, wet, warm? If you're in northern England then isn't keeping tomatoes indoors based on long experience of historical climate, not an adjustment to recent conditions?

Price of oranges has tripled, says the IMF As the #ClimateCrisis escalates, oranges are yet another food item we will be saying goodbye to. Floods, droughts, insects and a bacterial infection have all contributed to the worst harvests in decades in Brazil and US. Orange juice comes from a large plant called a tree. These things prefer a normal climate, ideally neither underwater or completely desiccated. These are conditions which their disease vectors prefer. The juicing industry is already considering alternative fruit for juicing, until of course, the climate crisis takes that away from us as well. For now, you can enjoy OJ at triple the price. Until your money becomes worthless, when there’s no OJ to buy and you’ll be lucky if you have clean water. I’m both a food scientist and a plant biologist and I’m here to tell you, the #foodapocalypse is here

@faizashaheen Can we see all of them? I was right behind you, but this is disingenuous, and that's made me doubt my assessment. I read there are 15 tweets in question and you seem to have chosen the least significant to share with us. Let us look at the worst, and discuss them properly.

People are asking so here are some of the tweets that were used against me and that I had to answer for in my NEC panel meeting earlier this week. They’ve briefed a different story about what happened, but they wanted me out and used very thin grounds to do it.

Today! My friend Yragael has invited me to the theatre to see the matinee of Glass Menagerie at Ally Pally (he had a Tennessee Williams moment once and read everything!). As he’s a wheelchair user I asked if I could do the journey of 2 buses with him to see what it’s like - 1/4

@carlafrancome It's infuriating that so little space is given to wheelchairs/buggies/big luggage, throwing us into stressful competition. Single deckers in eg. Newcastle have lots of flip seats so space is flexible. 2 decker design trickier but surely not beyond the wit ...

user gets on, and signs make it clear that wheelchair users have priority. But Yragael says it can be quite stressful for wheelchair users if the space isn’t readily available. He says you have to be quite proactive to make sure everyone can find the best use of the space. /4
