@hurza This is the clip from dual fisheye lens 360 camera, before corrections. The edges of the circles are too distorted to retain good image quality and they suffer from color fringing. Lens corrections can straighten the geometry, but they can not improve the damaged detail & color.

Remember not to be too harsh or disappointed on #dji #avata360 image quality. No 360 cam with only 2 (fisheye) lenses will EVER produce crisp image all around the frame, no matter the resolution, and 6-cam 360 rigs are too heavy and expensive for a consumer product. (1/2)

@hurza Stretching an image with lens correction, smudges the image quality. On a regular wide angle lens like 155° FOV of avata2, the stretching is pretty ok with minimal crop. On a fisheye 190° from 360 cameras, the stretching will be significantly more destructive with deeper crop.

@hurza Cropping in, on a fisheye camera, is definitely worse than filming with a regular wide lens using the whole sensor area. If you are not interested at all on 360, get yourself an avata2.

@JasperEllens 360 and image quality are not getting along very well. At least this kind of 2-fisheye-lens system, is doomed by physics to miss image quality. It’s nice for consumers who don’t pixel peep, but as soon as you add a 360 clip next to a proper camera clip, 360 looks like a smudge.

The #DJIAvata360 will be a pretty nice flying action cam I guess. But the video quality has to be on point to make it a succes. Also: do people have the attention span of 3- 4 weeks to actually still want to order it? This new release tactics might brick the actual sales numbers.

Some lucky guys got the #eND for #dji #mavic4pro before it was cancelled (pre-release combos). But one unlucky operator had a small pebble hit the filter, and some chips fell out of its surface! How unfortunate… 😱

@DigiTechReviews Ronin platform needs the pro ecosystem that third party vendors provide. DJI has no reason or benefit from pulling the plug on thath SDK. Ronin is like Enterprise level product, where the sdk makes it thrive.

So… RS5 got released today in China. Only #rs5 , not #rs5pro model yet. #DJI did some useful, yet minor upgrades to their already great gimbal. I suppose in a few weeks time we will see it released in the rest of the world (no USA, I am not including you).

Nice find from @Quadro_News 🤘 It seems that #dji #rs5 is having control buttons and joystick on the briefcase handle, and fine adjustment knobs on every axis (like those on the camera plate). At least these are the only new features that are visible from this image.
