We collected every dollar they owe the people of this city — and will continue to hold them accountable. In New York, corporations are held to the same standard as everyone else.  
No company — no matter how large or powerful — is above the law.

@itsbraddillon @geraldposner Nice to see someone else paying attention to reality. I’m all for fiscal responsibility but you can’t cut costs to get your way out of debt. Taxes suck but we’ve enjoyed an easy life for long time by just adding things to the tab. Now we have to pay the toll.

@geraldposner Sure, but given where our deficit stands today, we really do need more money to keep throwing at the growing interest rate problem. Can't really reform our way out of being on the hook for a trillion bucks of interest every year.

What Bezos says makes a lot of politicians uncomfortable. America’s leaders have convinced themselves that throwing more money at broken systems will fix them. It hasn’t, it simply entrenches them. The federal government is running a $2 trillion annual deficit and carrying $39 trillion in debt. That’s not a revenue problem. That’s a spending problem. Maybe @NYCMayor should look closer to home: New York City spends 130% more per student than the national average — and still ranks below 70% of the country in reading outcomes. More money. Worse results. Doubling taxes on billionaires may be politically satisfying and it is certainly a pillar of progressive Democrats. But it doesn’t guarantee better outcomes for working Americans. It just gives government more to spend — often in the same inefficient ways. The hard truth: reforming how money is disbursed matters far more than how much is collected. Balanced budgets? That is kryptonite to American politicians.

@baxiabhishek Yeah on a scale of 1-10 for “Things I’d hate to see AI replace” it’s probably like a 2. Unboxing videos are glorified ads for products esp when made by bigger/sponsored creators. However, it’s such a silly thing to use AI for. Why bother when opening up a box on camera is easy?

If there's one thing I'm not really unhappy about being killed by AI, unboxing videos... sure.

@ThisHouseFresh What will the internet be if people no longer use the internet and instead rely only on Google’s AI? It’s crazy how capable it’s getting now with widgets/mini apps getting built right in the summary or Gemini to demonstrate concepts.

@UAVHive Wow I didn't know video ate through the battery so fast I'd love to see Google revive the round aspect video of the SnapChat spectacles cause it let you crop it any way you wanted.

@DigiTechReviews I use mine as cameras too, the Oakleys give you a bit better battery, video will run the battery flat in around 15 minutes! Only a hyper lapse will get you longer albeit that's limited use. Being portrait aspect is what I hate most. I wonder if Google will go landscape?

@UAVHive Some very good points. Yeah, use case is big with these cause I imagine the Google glasses will be better for things like search and AI assitant. I'm mainly wanting a pair to use as a POV camera

@DigiTechReviews Also consider the Oakleys for more battery life than the Ray-Ban. Both can often be bought cheap on eBay. I bet Google will end up with better features over the next few years. The question is what would you use them for? My main use is listening to music.
