@sjeuk @Polymarket The poorest people in America have free healthcare. After transfers they are a lot richer than the poor in the UK, and live in bigger houses, too.

Influencer “spent $800 on a nobu res at Coachella and have absolutely no regrets.” That’s because she will likely write it off on her taxes as a business expense. That means all Americans who pay taxes are subsidizing her extravagant lifestyle. Nadya Okamoto, known for co-founding the menstrual equity organization PERIOD, currently lives in New York City. Nadya doesn’t actually believe in equity. She just believes in gluttony. (nadyaokamoto on IG)

Influencers brag about ‘fine dining’ at Coachella eating Nobu while drinking out of plastic cups and eating off cardboard plates. The dining experience costs $350+ per person.

@Bubblebathgirl Taking the maximum legally allowed deductions is not a government subsidy, it’s keeping the money you earned. That’s socialist/communist narrative bullshit. Not a fan of influencers by any means but we should apply this logic any tax filing entity.

@Bubblebathgirl That’s not how write offs work. She has revenue from streaming she reports as income. She has expenses related to streaming she claims as deductions. Revenue - expenses = profit. Businesses taxed on profit. So she saves whatever her effective tax rate is x 800 and it’s 100% legal

@alecmets2011 @sjeuk @kaethebae321 @Polymarket Are you a travel nurse or PRN? Which would make it a choice. And if you do travel, over the past 10 years, you e made more money than some doctors. My wife traveled in 2021-2024 and was making 300k but had 0 PTO.

@sjeuk @kaethebae321 @Polymarket I worked 10 years with zero PTO. There’s no minimum. I’m a registered nurse. It’s very common in any hourly position to get zero PTO. Don’t let the commenters convince you otherwise

@Meruteon @reddit_lies We imported more than 50m people over the past 40 years due to perceived need to shore up the workforce to support the pending doom of the retiring boomers so that point is irrelevant.

@halfpricedbuddy @reddit_lies Not entirely. Some would die early. Others would be be unable to provide while consuming even more resources. That many more people means jobs are even harder to get. While artificial, the resource constraints would get worse

@Meruteon @reddit_lies Workers fund resources. A decline in birth rates triggers an unfunded liability of a future benefit. Even though some of those would consume government resources, the 50m existing would fund more multiple times greater than they would consume.

@kateunspecified @reddit_lies US is not. Other countries like India might be. Fertility in the US is trending downward. Full replacement is 2.1 children per woman, currently 1.79. Full replacement at a minimum (ideally higher) is tied to funding future benefits and economic expansion.

@BadassLinux @toobaffled @CNN You know those “brought to you by” ads right before the news starts. They’re mostly pharmaceutical companies. That’s why cnn doesn’t cover it.

“Sudden And Unexpected”
“My daughter was a cardio tech, she was mandated by her employer AHS to get her shots to keep her job. 17 months after receiving her second Pfizer shot she was diagnosed with an aggressive rare cancer and 6 weeks later she was gone. She was 24 years old, had cancer in one lung and she never smoked. Healthy, young, vibrant, no comorbidities and cancer that doctors said they’ve never seen before especially in someone so young. I saw many young people on the cancer ward. 💔 This is what “Turbo Cancer” looks like December, 2022”

@VNA9218 @X_Believer_ @Platypuss_10 Not relevant. "Air resistance" has no effect on maintaining glidepath. If he was at final approach speed with the gear up he'd have the same pitch attitude. Only difference is more power would be required to oppose the added drag of the gear.

Except for "emergency" or deadline or over an ocean or something WHY do people fly anyway? I wouldnt wanna be shoved in an aluminum can among strangers. You can say its "safer" all you want but the truth is, if a plane crashes youre almost guaranteed to die, in a vehicle not so much. 2nd, slow down, enjoy life, scenery. Stop when YOU want to stop etc... I mean just my opinion but... Ive flown once when I was a kid, no desire. Only way would be if there was absolutely no way around it. My two cents

American shows that Delta Airlines has released new pricing tiers and has taken price gouging to a whole new level There are now multiple ticket tiers, and each ticket tier has different tiers The price goes up depending if you want to earn miles, have overhead space, board in different groups, be refundable, change seat and more This is insanity

@halfpricedbuddy @OneBadDude_ Probably, depends what you are trying to keep in? Generally, this stuff is just more expensive than it is to make actual concrete, it's for if you don't know how to mix your own or can't be asked.

The pricing tiers for AGI are something like (1) $20/month, (2) $200/day = ~$75,000/year, (3) $1,000/day = ~$350,000/year, and (4) ~$10 billion. For now.

@Wake_upWA @AlaskaAir One of the greatest luxuries of growing up is having “fuck you” money. I will spend more on an equivalent product/service if the original product/service provider pulls something like this. No one is asking them to wear a maga hat. Just remain neutral.

Hey @AlaskaAir- are you ok with this ? Flight attendant wearing an “ICE OUT” pin. Not showing her face, but you should probably address it. What a slap in the face to ICE agents who risk their lives protecting this country. This American supports you. 🇺🇸

@WallStreetApes I’m struggling to understand how this works mathematically. 165k pmts over 4 yrs is 41k/y. That’s nearly half of her principal per year, more than enough to cover the capped 6.5% interest. Student loans don’t compound either. There’s more to this story she’s not telling us.

This is absolutely insane - This American borrowed $96,000 in student loans for a bachelors degree - She’s already paid back $165,356 - She still owes $220,810.73 Again, she only borrowed $96,000 “I have paid almost double what I even borrowed in the first place, and I owe so much money. I am running backwards at this point” How is this legal? This is such a scam. This is why students can’t pay off their loans, the terms are beyond predatory
