Fast fashion is not “democratization” of fashion. The overproduction, pollution, and exploitation of labor that comes with it far outweighs the “benefits” of more people being able to buy more stuff.

Sasuke*. Photographer: Masahisa Fukase, 1977. Collection: Masahisa Fukase Archives, Tokyo. The main subject in Fukase's frame was his cat, whom he named Sasuke. In 1977, Fukase adopted a cat, giving him the name of a legendary ninja, Sasuke. Ten days after arriving home, the cat ran away and got lost. The photographer then put up hundreds of missing posters around his Tokyo neighborhood. Two weeks later, a woman brought him a kitten, saying she'd found a cat that looked like the one on the poster. As soon as the artist laid eyes on the cat, he realized it wasn't his. "When I first looked at this cat, I was disappointed," Fukase recounts, "but I'm a true cat lover and I simply can't resist them. Even though he wasn't my cat, I decided to take him in: Let's accept him as Sasuke 2." His coat markings and facial structure were completely different. However, Fukase didn't turn the kitten away. He named him Sasuke the Second and continued with his project. Following this incident, Fukase focused his work on Sasuke the Second. He wandered the city carrying the cat in his backpack, photographing him in various locations. The Sasuke series was featured in multiple publications during Fukase's lifetime. Viva! Sasuke was published by Petlife-sha in 1978. After his death, unpublished frames found in his archives were compiled into a comprehensive monograph by Atelier EXB (Editions Xavier Barral) in 2021. This edition presents 123 black-and-white photographs dedicated to Sasuke and Momoe- a second cat brought home a year later - organized into four chronological chapters: delpireandco.com/en/produit/sas…

@shekhu04 You can't waste time thinking it's already been done. No one thinks exactly the way you do, so your answer to the same question will always be different.
