@surnell I said this a month ago when people were complaining about 28nm chips. Most people are unaware of the applications in which 28nm chips are used, including smart meters, car infotainment setup boxes, and televisions, among many others.

Why is India making 28nm chips? Because we import over $25 billion worth of semiconductors every year, and nearly half of that comes from 28nm-class chips. They power phones, TVs, routers, wearables, meters, and even defence systems.

Imagine if max GST was 5/7% on everything.. including cars / fuel / household prods / hotels etc… the IT slabs started from much higher practical levels & max slab wud only be for 1 cr+ then kind of money left in hands of public would create a mind blowing economic push & thus leading to expansion in manufacturing etc.. but alas..
