Teams now expect guys to develop the most in the pros, and the minors isn't as crucial to their elite prospects. Not to mention baseball is becoming even more of a young man's game. Look at say, the Cards.

Max effort pitching, the hunt for velocity, is destroying the pitcher. Third? I had loose bodies taken out one time, and if done right and not a real bad situation it's a VERY short recovery. I was literrally PITCHING 17 days after my procedure as it was VERY non-invasive and the loose bodies were removed without ANY internal riff raff being done.
