I’ve had a love affair with reading since I was six years old. An elementary school principal named Charles Smith (who I include in my acknowledgments of my next book “All The Wrong Moves”) ran a reading contest in first grade. I won it and that man probably created my love of reading for life. When your parents are fighting, you develop survival skills. One of them is insulation. You become a little introverted.
