Enough is enough. It’s beyond that in fact. Government has a powerful tool available to alleviate this problem almost immediately. The numbers pale into insignificance vs recent budget interventions. Industry is ready. Schools are ready. Extend free school meal entitlement now.

@hannahrcameron Hi Hannah - We are advising against rail travel and to make alternative arrangements on strike days, but if it can't be avoided and your service is no longer running you may take the service before or after your booked train with your current ticket - Phil

@GWRHelp Hello, I have tickets booked for trains that are now not running on 25/06 from Bath Spa to Oxford (return). Do I need to change the ticket, or can I use them on a train running on the update time table? Thank you!

Still no answer to @Wera_Hobhouse’s question on the #SFVS despite the deadline being yesterday. It’s not good enough that schools are breaking up this week, not knowing whether their children will return to free fruit and veg in September.

Great to read that the @food_strategy proposes that the Govt doubles the funding for the School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme & that the money should be given directly to schools. Currently, the scheme is still awaiting approval to restart in Sept nationalfoodstrategy.org

🍎Good nutrition is vital to a child's ability to learn. 🥕The School Fruit & Veg Scheme provides some children with the only piece of fruit/veg they will eat all day. My constituents want to know the scheme will continue in Sept, so I've asked @GavinWilliamson to confirm this.

Here we go, again. The government must confirm the SFVS is safe for September, so that all 4-6 year olds in England get their free piece of fruit or veg at break time.

The restart of The School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme in Sept has not yet been signed off by Government. This delay means that the scheme will not be able to begin at the start of term. The scheme needs to be approved now or our children will lose more access to fruit & veg #SFVS

And yet here I am today, a 36 year old woman, with my keys through my fingers in my pocket, avoiding badly lit streets, take long detours to avoid alleyways, the same sick feeling if I hear heavy footsteps too close behind me.

As a teenager growing up in London, I assumed that the fear I felt walking alone in the dark (e.g. 4.30pm home from school) wouldn’t last - I felt that way because I was a young woman, surely proper adult women walked the streets alone, confidently?
