In the show I'm working on right now, I've got a #b3d scene with OpenVDB clouds, ocean, rain, & 3 GB of textures. #Cycles render time: 5.5–15 hours / frame #Eevee render time: 5–12 seconds / frame (!) Director preferred the Eevee render.

just got hit with my first surprise @figma billing where it added two editors to my bill and charged automatically when all I did was give them file permissions on one file. wild to me how a company who does so much good for the community still hasn’t fixed this dark pattern

Yo procreators. Wait, that's not what I mean. Yo people who use Procreate on the iPad. My 11 yr old daughter is aching for some skilling up on the tool. Are there camps or hands on tutoring/courses that she can get into? Not online, something a little more engaged.

No matter how fast computer processing gets, it will always take the same amount of time to open Photoshop or Illustrator.

@MarcoSuarez Same here. Most frustrating part of using my phone in the last year... I recently learned that there's a next-key prediction system—the tap region scales up or down based on the statistical likelihood of the next key. Can't say for sure but I think it's a new addition to iOS...

I feel like I make more typos typing on my iPhone now than I used to. Is there a change to how they autocorrect or am I just getting sloppier?

@ThienAngst They’re not as cheap as they were before, but the price feels acceptable now. $0.19 is way better than it was a couple months ago

@motherfuton The term I’m familiar with feels overly pretentious, but, “statefulness.” (We could do better.) “Modality” is good but it overlaps so much with other domain language that I’m not sure it’s helpful.

Mobile designers: what do you call it when you're describing how an app should behave given a user input—for example: Tapping on a button should a) slide over a new view or b) pop up a sheet. What do we call that? Transitions? Navigation?
