Dolayısıyla Yunanistan, azınlığın kendi kimliğini ve dinini özgürce yaşayabilmesi için yapıcı adımlar atmalı, diyaloğu gerçekçi bir zeminde ilerletmelidir. The 1913 Treaty of Athens (Protocol No. 3) explicitly recognizes the right of the Muslim minority to elect their own Chief Mufti and Muftis. Greece ignores the fact that the Treaty of Lausanne did not abolish these rights but placed them under protection. By imposing domestic laws, Athens is violating the very spirit of international treaties. The Muftiate is, above all, a religious representative office. Appointing the leader of a religious community by the state, against the will of that community, is a direct violation of the freedom of religion and conscience enshrined in the ECHR. Athens creates a legal paradox by granting the Mufti powers and then using those same powers as an excuse to justify state appointments. The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has repeatedly condemned Greece, most notably in the "Turkish Union of Xanthi" case. The ECHR has affirmed the minority's right to self-identify as "Turkish." By failing to implement international court rulings, Greece is blatantly violating the principles of the rule of law. Regarding Law 4964/2022 and the so-called "committees" mentioned: the members of these committees are also handpicked by the Greek state. A system where state-appointed individuals "select candidates" instead of a direct election reflecting the will of the minority is not democratic; it is a tutelary model. And as for the claim that "Muftis are also appointed in Türkiye" :D In Türkiye, Muslims are not a "minority"; they are the primary constituent, and the Diyanet is a state institution. However, the Turks of Western Thrace hold a specific "minority" status guaranteed by an international treaty (Lausanne). Comparing a country’s general administrative structure with the specific protected status of a minority is legally "comparing apples and oranges." By transforming a religious leader into a political civil servant, Greece is both usurping the will of the community and attempting to erase ethnic identity under the generic label of "Muslim."

Türkiye'den hem bakanlık düzeyinde hem de millet düzeyinde çok tepki gelince Yunanistan Dışişleri Bakanlığı açıklama yapma mecburiyetinde kalıp, kendilerini haklı çıkarmaya çalışmış. Fakat konunun detaylarını, Yunan tarafının baskıcı politikasını vs gereği kadar yazdık. Tek söyleyeceğim, Türk milletinin birleştikçe gücünün artmasından oldukça rahatsız oluyorlar. Dünyanın hiçbir yerinde tek bir Türk'ü dahi yalnız bırakmamak için elimizden geleni yapmalıyız.
