@Breaking911 I'm a full-time wildlife photographer and when someone asks me "what are the scariest animals to photograph", I tell them it's bull bison during the rut. They simply cannot be trusted. Same with Cape buffalo in Africa, "They look at you like you owe them money." - Ruark

This is just unbelievable, and I've never seen anything like it (although that doesn't mean nothing like this has ever happened). Bison attack people all the time, resulting in gruesome injuries. I wrote about this in my new book, Real Life Yellowstone, where I gave the bison the final chapter of the book, because I regard them as the most dangerous animals in Greater Yellowstone. I used, as a source, Ernest Hemingway's book about bullfighting, because the injuries are similar. But bison usually attack when people walk right up to them as if to pet them. This animal is behaving almost as if it is literally insane, whatever form that takes in a bison. The comments on the news story--"He got what he had coming"--are misinformed, to put it charitably. The National Park Service tells people to stay 25 yards away from bison. That should be plenty, and our victim is about that far away. It's more like a bear attack, or a Siberian tiger.

A tourist was seriously injured Friday evening after being thrown 8 feet into the air by a bull bison in Yellowstone National Park. Professional photographer Mike Macleod filmed the incident and said the bison was "angry, agitated and charging anything and everything." (No audio)

Well well.... This was entirely predictable. The real question is whether officials in Washington genuinely misunderstand how Tehran thinks, or whether they are operating under assumptions that bear little resemblance to the realities in the Strait of Hormuz. From Tehran's perspective, control over the Strait is not a bargaining chip, it is a core issue of sovereignty, deterrence, and strategic influence. That is why expecting Iran to simply relinquish its position there is unrealistic. x.com/BarakRavid/sta…
Danny (Dennis) Citrinowicz ,داني سيترينوفيتش@citrinowicz

I have a strong suspicion that the Iranian narrative will be the mirror image of Washington's. Tehran is likely to argue that it never sought negotiations, and that the initiative came from the mediators in coordination with the United States. From the Iranian perspective, it responded to every U.S. military strike, while Washington chose not to respond militarily to Iran's most recent attack toward Jordan. If that is indeed how Tehran frames the sequence of events, it is difficult to conclude that the Iranian leadership believes it has acknowledged any mistake or backed down. This raises the possibility that claims of Iranian remorse or strategic retreat reflect more wishful thinking than an accurate reading of Tehran's decision-making. The real litmus test will not be official statements but Iranian behavior in the Strait of Hormuz. If Tehran is unwilling to allow the United States to move commercial tankers through the Strait without accepting Iran's preferred arrangements, then the underlying strategic dispute remains unresolved. As long as that issue persists, declarations of de-escalation or mutual understanding should be treated with caution, because the central point of contention has not been addressed. #iran

Mitt Romney: I am not running for president in 2028. The human brain shrinks by about 20% by the time you're 80 years of age. Twenty percent smaller—the size of the brain itself. So I basically think people who are 80 and above really should not be running the world or running the country. Source: Deseret Voices

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve was created to help OUR country during emergencies. But Presidents use it to stabilize fuel prices… GLOBALLY, because oil is a global market. If we use much more of it to mask the cost of wars, we risk collapsing the salt caverns that hold it.
Eric Nuttall@ericnuttall

The US Strategic Petroleum Reserve is now ~19MM barrels away from estimated minimum operating levels. There very soon will no longer be a safety buffer to protect the world from further losses out of the Strait.

Haaland is an interesting example of how being unique to look at has served him better than being conventionally attractive ever would have (I think he’s handsome in his own weird way) 6’5”, flowing blonde hair, freakish athleticism and a face resembling no human ever in history
Sam Lee@SamLee

Haaland’s camp has been told that social-media algorithms are being geared towards Haaland content, because that is where the demand is. His boom in popularity in the US has been likened to when Travis Kelce began dating Taylor Swift and then his Kansas City Chiefs team won that season’s Super Bowl. @TheAthleticFC

The U.S. still has no strategy in Iran. It will not commit to war. It will not commit to the MOU. It has gone to war in a way that has made everything worse and it has no idea how to get out of the hole it created. Every day this mistake is prolonged just makes it worse.

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump: “We may put down the blockade… and it’ll only be a blockade for Iran.” “Anybody else can have whatever they want, of course. They’ll [Iran] drop some mines if they can… but it’s hard because we’re taking out those little boats now with the same weapon we use to take out the drug lords.”
