.@cursor_ai's billing is getting really confusing. I'm on the pro plan ($20/mo), and paid additional $20 this month in "usage based billing". And now they are trying to upsell me on Pro+ plan ($60/mo). Wtf is going on here?

I haven’t touched freezed or json_serializable in a while. Ever since I started using Cursor. Prompts do the job better. No code generation setup. Just ask, and it’s done. Not a hot take. Just something that’s quietly changed how I work. Anyone else feeling this?

@KhalidWarsa The more precise you the with instructions, more accurate results will be. And getting the code. Me as senior engineer review the code. And either make changes myself or ask ai to update it. And cycle goes on like this. Until it is ready to merge.

I’m using AI more and more everyday to get work done, but there’s no way in hell it’s making me 10x engineer. Realistically speaking, I’m twice as fast at getting tasks done because I can offload the initial investigation, scoping, and implementation to AI. In some cases, especially areas I haven't worked on before, AI makes me 5x faster, but I still have to review all the code, test it, and make sure it adheres to the existing architecture and design patterns. Writing code was never the bottleneck because LLMs generating massive amounts of code in seconds made it clear that not all code is usable or adds value. Matter of fact, I’m the bottleneck in this case since I have to review and test the generated code, and I refuse to commit code I don’t understand. My reputation as a software engineer is on the line with every line of code I commit, and I must be able to speak on, explain, and argue for my code changes at all times, which I obviously can’t do if I’m “vibe coding” and pushing 1,000-line commits every day. This is where I currently stand at AI and engineering. Although it doesn't make me the fabled 10x engineer AI bros love to boast about, it really helps me get more work done. Faster. And I'm here for it.

Growing up in a third world country means you can relate to the older first world crowd because tech back home was a decade behind. We were using VHS and Cassette tapes in early 2000s, Internet thru phone line (dial up?) as recent as 2007, and cracked Windows & Torrents in 2010.
