When visiting a Sikh temple, visitors are expected to cover their heads as a sign of respect — but this just looks completely performative and awkward.

Neither the Virgin Birth nor the Resurrection prove Christ’s Divinity, though they are consistent with it. There may have been other virgin births and bodily resurrections (Tibetan monks etc). It is instead the entire story of Christ and his own claims that proclaim he is divine.

@cristian05231 @Substantial6187 There’s nothing in the English language which states that a ‘god’ has to be the creator. The difficulty in translating ‘deva’ is the exact reason I’m arguing that atheism isn’t an accurate description of Buddhism.
Buddhism is ‘anisvaravada’. It doesn’t translate to atheist.

Would a big-a Atheist be content to chant “sattha devamanussanam” when recollecting the Buddha? The devas are soteriologically irrelevant but their existence is not denied.
