@snewmanpv How can humans be bad at math? :) We invented it. And will keep inventing it. It is not a game you win. AI will always be limited by its algorithmic scope until we invent AGI.

The people buying Zcash right now are not the people who were buying it in November. Keep this in mind.

You shouldn’t be trying to do more in each day, trying to fill every second with a work fidget of some type. It took me a long time to figure this out. I used to be very fond of the results-by-volume approach. Being busy is most often used as a guise for avoiding the few critically important but uncomfortable actions. The options are almost limitless for creating “busyness.”

I've noticed, at least for me, when you hit a certain level of followers and engagement that the dopamine rush of getting just plain likes just disappears, and the notifications of people liking your posts becomes noise you scroll past. That isn't to say there isn't still dopamine to be had, and I'm not saying this is true of everyone or most, but it shows one of the gamified elements of the platform has a saturation point that, once you move past, you begin to seek new signals of success at the game. And what I think is magical about Twitter in particular is that the new dopamine rushes that I get here are more validating and in all honesty satisfying on a deeper psychological level: getting DMs from legitimate experts and people I respect, having private conversations with intelligent people where we share ideas and perspectives, and possibly making relationships that will help them and me build new products that will yield both wealth and a better world. At this point, is it even fair to call this a dopamine rush? The few GCs I've been invited too all feel like something akin to the salon and coffee shop culture of the 18th century, and in those tight communities there are a lot of opportunities to do really great things. I cannot see this as inherently bad in the same way Reddit's upvoting system is inherently bad. Unlike Twitter, Reddit has no ladder up to a group of prestige. When I first started using Reddit, I met a few people working at the Federal Reserve and think-tanks and whatnot. Besttrourses here is a good example. But... besttrousers isn't really at the top of his game even if he's a big-time reddit mod. Reddit is not real life. On Twitter, however, the private conversations I've had ARE with people who are at the top of their game. That's a meaningful difference. In vanquishing cancel culture and disincentivizing the wokescolds, Elon Musk made it possible for us to use this site to make magic. Despite my dislike of the man, this is an indisputable fact. Before Musk someone once chastised me on this website for using the phrase "beyond the pale" as it was colonialist language. What a gay retard. This has really destabilized my view on Musk and social media in a really big way. I'm still struggling to understand this.

philosophy isn’t progressing because most people who call themselves philosophers are actually historians who study philosophy. we need people who are willing to say something new, not study what's already been said. don't get me wrong, it's hard. really hard. anything genuinely new will most likely be ignored or seen as extremely controversial. but don't tell me there's nothing new to be said. look around. the world is riddled with philosophical problems desperate to be solved.

@darees33 @celestialbe1ng There’s a complete difference from a traditional market, everyone is gambling. There’s no such thing in investing in crypto, they are speculating in crypto. Take everyone’s knives away.

The main argument against birth control is that smart people primarily reproduce by accident. They slip up one day, get too horny and BOOM, parents Give them the ability to prevent this from happening and most of them appear to take it
