Full days of thinking, laughing, sweating, and some tears for family, emergency management, and weather. My opinions are my own.

The lack fof snow across the Pacific Northwest is sobering. Already melted out on Sasse Ridge which equals about a 700,000 gallon water deficit per acre of land! #wawx The Oregon Cascades are even worse...

Huge Pacific Heatwave - larger than North America - with record heat spanning 6,000 miles across, peaking in the East Pacific. The highest anomalies are near the Galápagos Islands, a clear sign a mighty El Niño is beginning. This excess heat infused in the climate system throws everything off-kilter globally, making heatwaves more extreme, floods more intense, but also subduing Atlantic hurricane season. #elnino #heatwave #pacific

🚨#BREAKING: Watch as wild footage captures lightning striking a natural gas facility in Springtown, Texas, triggering a massive explosion and sending a huge fireball into the sky visible from miles away. The incident comes as the National Weather Service had issued a warning for a large and extremely dangerous tornado in the area.

☀️It's a dry and sunny weekend across western WA. Temperatures will remain mild going into next week with a gradual warming trend. If you're hanging out near the waters, keep in mind that most temperatures in the lakes/rivers are still in the 50's (very cold). 🛟 #wawx

We have an emergency repair that will take time on the 1950 Tacoma Narrows Bridge. We uncovered damage beneath the driving surface that requires double-lane closures on the bridge going from Tacoma to Gig Harbor. (1/2)

An ethereal scene here in Brantley County as a thick layer of smoke and fog hangs heavy in the air around the burned areas of the Highway 82 fire. Sirens blaring in the background as the fire continues to burn new areas. @CNN

Absolute insanity on Bob Mills SkyNews 9 as David Payne tracks a satellite tornado orbiting and then merging with the primary wedge near Braman. One of the most photogenic mergers we've ever seen! The power of nature on full display. Stay safe and stay weather aware, Oklahoma ! ⛈️🙏 #okwx #oklahoma #tornado

Cool "meso low" feature spinning offshore with a lot of the cloud coverage in place this afternoon. The cloud coverage is beginning to clear up north this afternoon. The clear area will expand southward this afternoon and evening. #wawx

Kīlauea Eruption Update — Episode 45 of Kīlauea summit lava fountaining began at 1:34 a.m. HST today, April 23, and is ongoing.

Lava fountains at the north vent are currently about 700 feet (200 meters) high. Winds are blowing from the north, which suggests that volcanic gas emissions and volcanic material may be distributed to the south/southwest from Halemaʻumaʻu. The National Weather Service Honolulu Forecasting Office has issued an Ashfall Advisory for the District of Ka’ū to the southwest of the eruptive vents.

Fountaining episodes typically last 12 hours of less, but ash can remain in the air for longer depending on wind and weather conditions.

Please stay aware of hazards and rely on official updates from USGS, National Weather Service, and Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.
