@therealbrom And this initiative is less about raising money (most of that will happen in our Series A round) and more because we believe stakeholders should have opportunity to become shareholders. Those who built and maintain the psychedelic ecosystem should have a seat at the table.

We are paying $3400 for infant daycare at Harvard. In 2017 as a first year postdoc, this is higher than my post tax salary. It does not make sense financially to work as a postdoc and to raise a kid. You wonder why some women quit science at this point??

This allows HHS to use a def that sees any unauthorized use as inherently abuse even in absence of harms and presence of benefit. Congress could clarify that abuse means harms and this small change would have a huge effect on how psychedelics are regulated.

I think this is an important point. CSA law defines the 8 factors and 3 findings that HHS must make before recommending that DEA schedule, but the law does not provide definition of abuse.

Companies like @MindstateDesign (@DillanDiNardo) and @TactogenInc (@mattbagg) are trying to advance psychedelic research to help with treatment-resistant depression and PTSD. But the government hasn't fully caught up yet...

Looking forward to presenting on lessons from the 1967 STP/DOM episode at @psychedemia this weekend. In preparation, I asked @midjourney to imagine "the final slide from an amazing presentation on the history of psychedelic drugs". I will try to deliver on the promise of these:

I'm pro-MDMA therapy and pro-decriminalization of all drugs, but prospective users deserve to be informed of all risks. Labeling the MDMA comedown a "myth" was irresponsible (see link.springer.com/article/10.100…). Glad to see this critique. journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.11…

Today the DEA withdrew their plan to prohibit DiPT, 4-HO-DiPT, 5-MeO-MiPT, 5-MeO-DET, and 5-MeO-αMT. As opposition mounted, they decided to cancel the hearing. Kratom was the first time public opposition prevented the prohibition of a substance, now we have five more successes!

I'm grateful to all the scientists and experts who were willing to come to the hearing. And I am impressed and grateful to have worked with Matt Zorn, who led our legal efforts and is, I think, the man of the hour.
