If you've been on Twitter for years, you may remember the good guy Shane aka Dungeons and Deadlifts was chopping it up with him one time - he was saying how he was aiming for a 500lbs squat Said maybe he never gets it... but he'll be better for it and closer to it than if he told himself "that's not possible" and never gave it an honest try Years later I see lifters artificially hold themselves back all the time by saying "I'll never hit ___ weight, theres no way", "I'm too old" "I have bad genetics", etc and its a terrible attitude to have.. and a reason you never make progress Commit to the process of hitting the goal you are aiming for and you never know... you'll suprise yourself

@heardfromshane @MonicaRicci @HandyGingerGal Hey, that’s a classic case of being a good wife. When we were discussing what to have for dinner I offered to fry chicken or have 🦐🦐🦐 and you said we should have that because Shane never gets to have it. You know that no good deed goes unpunished.😅😅😅

So… I may have broken my finger. 😫 The nail is definitely twisted and no longer attached. I hit my hand with the angle grinder.

@Tyromper @heardfromshane @Markos81a @jerryteixeira @MuscleNerd3 @claystaggs I've seen a few people recommend disappearing for a while. Taking some time in isolation, dedicating themselves self-improvement, whatever methods they wish to use. Some might use this time to reading self-improvement books, working out, dieting, mediation, prayer, etc. For those of us who are Christians, I can say that we have biblical precedence for this. Elijah did it. To supply the background, in 1 Kings 18:20-40, Elijah had challenged the prophets of Baal to a trial by fire, and defeated them. He then had the prophets of Baal slaughtered. Queen Jezebel was not pleased. I Kings 19 (ESV) 1 Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. 2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.” 3 Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there. 4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he asked that he might die, saying, “It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life, for I am no better than my fathers.” 5 And he lay down and slept under a broom tree. And behold, an angel touched him and said to him, “Arise and eat.” 6 And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on hot stones and a jar of water. And he ate and drank and lay down again. 7 And the angel of the Lord came again a second time and touched him and said, “Arise and eat, for the journey is too great for you.” 8 And he arose and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mount of God. Notice, that food sustained him forty days and nights, as he traveled alone to Mount Horeb. Then, see what happens. 1 Kings 19:9 There he came to a cave and lodged in it. And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and he said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 10 He said, “I have been very jealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.” 11 And he said, “Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. After his experience, he became a better prophet. He was no longer balked by threats from tyrants. (See 2 Kings, chapter 1.) And there is someone else who felt the need to take some extended time alone to dedicate himself more fully to his calling. Matthew 4:1 (ESV) Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4 But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” 5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple 6 and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’” 7 Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” 8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” 11 Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him. Even Yahoshua felt the need to disappear for a while. I'm not suggesting you have to fast for forty days and nights, the way Moses (Exodus 34:27-28) Elijah and Yahoshua did. But if you do feel the need to disappear for a time, maybe you should. Moses did, Elijah did and Yahoshua did. So, you certainly have good examples to follow.
