The Kansas House acted with urgency to pass a bill endorsed by a jail bond lobbyist that mandates arrest warrants for people charged with felonies and restricts judges’ discretion to set bond conditions for defendants. Via @KansasReflector: lawrenceks.news/4dkzxJR

It’s okay for hard things to be hard. On the subject of AI and writing, I like the way George Saunders puts it:

On March 5, the #KULaw Chapter of the American Constitution Society hosted five federal and state judges — including several KU Law alumni — for an informational panel about their paths to the bench.




Last I checked, law school tuition and the cost of living are not going down. Yet next year, in MA, bar advocates will be paid **$85/hr** to represent defendants in district court. Doesn't seem like a recipe for the continued existence of lawyers for poor people.
