This learning hack will take you 30 seconds but will give you a deep understanding of any programming concept (doing that will make you a lot of money): Step 1. Go to ChatGPT Step 2. Type in the prompt: “Explain like I'm 5: [insert concept].” Regenerate the answer until you get one you fully understand. Step 3. Then use this prompt: “Give me 3 project ideas to practice [insert concept]” Choose one you like the most and implement it. Use this hack to gain in-depth knowledge you'll never forget and also get project ideas. You'll never struggle with learning programming ever again.

@hello_Foond Yeah, that's how most components look in a production codebase too :) One thing: For useState the convention is the name the two variables: `X` and `setX`. So in your case that should be `splash` and `setSplash`

You know when you learn something new, and then use it constantly? All my components now have more or less the same useState, click handler, conditional, and variable returned/reassigned depending on the conditional. #Reactjs #coding #noob #javascript

@patgpt4 Pomodoro method (sometimes i tweak it for shorter or longer focus and break stints) Setting alarms Mixing tasks I don't like to do with activities I enjoy ex. debugging a script while I drink my favorite beverage. Exercise/move everyday. Frequent dopamine detoxes. Cold showers.

@lynnnoton @lovelacecoding To counter this, hundreds of people are getting jobs as senior software engineers and their only experience is from a coding bootcamp.

@lovelacecoding The biggest thing that a senior developer brings isn't academic knowledge, but experience. You can't train that, just as you can't create a senior doctor just by pumping more medical school into a junior one. It just takes time. Plus who will mentor the junior ones w/o seniors.

I don't get why so many big companies are looking for senior developers for months. How about training your juniors and mediors more? 🤔

@traversymedia I think there is going to have to be a huge change in the way we teach and assess things in schools. For example we might have to do more in person assignments that involve using only paper, pencil, and your own mind to finish in class without AI. As opposed to hw or online tests

I am a bit conflicted about the future when it comes to people learning, not just code but anything. If they can simply ask AI for the answer rather than figure things out for themselves, what is the outcome of that? Being so dependent? I don't know. What are your thoughts?
