@qrohit @piyushbodaa What innovation are you expecting from retailers? Retailers are free to ask the companies to increase MRP or give more discounts in wholesale.

@hemanthk2002 @piyushbodaa There is only little margin between MRP and the wholesale price. The retail sellers dont have much left to optimize for. Only optimisation is scale.

Abolish MRP ! Develop countries do not have MRP Let people charge the money they want for the goods they own, if you don't like the price don't buy them but don't use the government to force people to sell goods at the price they don't want.

"Train number 12510, from Guwahati to Bengaluru… just another journey, until one small incident caught everyone’s attention," "In the sleeper coach, a vendor was moving from seat to seat, selling fruit cakes as if everything was normal," "A passenger picked up a packet, checked the MRP — ₹40 — and was about to pay," "But the vendor stopped him and said, ‘It will be ₹50, sir,’" "The passenger paused and calmly asked, ‘The MRP is ₹40… why ₹50?’" "The vendor replied without hesitation, ‘Sir, I delivered it to your seat, there’s a ₹10 service charge,’" "And that’s where things got interesting," "The passenger responded firmly, ‘I’ll only pay ₹40… and I need a bill,’" "The vendor changed his tone, sounding a bit emotional, ‘Sir, we have families to feed… we have to charge a little extra,’" "But the passenger didn’t budge, ‘You’re already paid for this job… this extra charge is illegal. If needed, I’ll file a complaint with IRCTC,’" "The vendor just smiled and said, ‘Tell whoever you want… we always charge ₹50,’" "The rest of the coach stayed silent, but everyone was listening," "No one spoke up… maybe because this has now become ‘normal,’" "But the real question is — has MRP become just a number printed on the packet?" "This isn’t about ₹10… it’s about accountability in the system," "If this continues, overcharging in the name of ‘service’ will become routine," "It’s time for strict action… otherwise even those who raise their voice will eventually fall silent,"

@Viceroy_009 @piyushbodaa High trust? The first day I was in Singapore, I was sold a Sprite can at 3 dollars. Soon found out that it's 1 dollar in vending machines and 1.5 dollars in shops. Certainly a rip off.

@piyushbodaa West & its bloc are high trust societies, while the Indian subcontinent is a low trust society, ie why system like MRP exists to prevent ripping off.

@mshahi0024 In every single one of those economies there are people like this. In those economies the government/private players just don't allow such people to board the train while India is being lenient.

@ze_rusty Why put the phone in aeroplane mode in the first place if you need to go to these lengths to be available to whoever calls in the night? I really don't get it.

"I can't do Airplane mode at night.. what if my family calls?" You can. Airplane mode kills Cellular, WiFi & Bluetooth. IT DOES NOT kill Ethernet. iPhone → USB Ethernet adapter → Ethernet cable → Router. Your iPhone gets internet. No wireless. No RF. Signal rings. Facetime rings. WhatsApp rings. Telegram rings. Your family can still reach you at 3am. Fifteen dollars. This is the hack nobody's talking about.

@Samhitab4u This is the same in all the countries. Not just India. This is probably because it's much easier to crash a flight compared to a train. If a fire breaks out in a train it could be stopped immediately and evacuated. But a small fire can crash a plane.

At airports, security checks are very strict. Bags scanned. Multiple checks. Railway stations handle far more passengers every day, yet security is much lighter. Why are airport security checks so strict compared to railway stations?

In any normal country the on premise security would tell you to stop if you are not supposed to do something. And if you complied, the matter would be over right there. But America isn’t a normal country. While no one on the premise had an issue, you had an online racist ragebait crowd doxx you, hunt you down to destroy your life and carrier ….. mostly because you are dancing with the wrong skin color. America is not a normal country.

I’m deeply concerned about the unfolding developments in Iran, including the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. I appeal to all communities to remain calm, uphold peace, and avoid any actions that could lead to tension or unrest. We must also ensure that those who are mourning in Jammu and Kashmir are allowed to grieve peacefully. The police and administration should exercise utmost restraint and refrain from using force or restrictive measures. The Government of Jammu & Kashmir is in close coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, to ensure the safety and well-being of J&K residents, including students, currently in Iran.

@NalinisKitchen Law of equal rights is applicable only for ancestral property. North India doesn't represent entire country. In Telangana at least, daughters get share of property although it's still the responsibility of sons to take care of ageing parents.

Imagine a family with two children. A 12 year old boy and a 15 year old girl. Both go to school. The girl helps her mother with housework. The boy loves to play cricket. They grow up. They go to college. After college, both get jobs. At the start of every month, both give their salary to their father after keeping some money for themselves. Their parents then find partners for them. Both get married. Until this point, everything is equal. Same house. Same upbringing. Same love. Same responsibility. But when it comes to the father’s property, suddenly things change. The daughter is often told she does not need a share. The law says both son and daughter have equal rights. But in many homes, only the son gets the property. If both were raised the same, both supported the family, and neither was a burden, then why is only the daughter denied her right?

Watching this T20I WC has made it clear how bad we have it in India as spectators. *The Stadia elsewhere - including fellow 'South Asian' Sri Lanka - have grass banks whereas we can't have grass banks because jets will pee and p00p and litter in it. *We don't have digital tickets yet. *Last but certainly not the least, our stadium washrooms even in high end stands are disgraceful. There are dry islands where you have to jump to avoid getting pee on your shoes. Overflowing with pee. What is the use of India generating 75% global revenue when these benefits are not trickling down to the consumer/spectator? cc Chhote Nawab @JayShah
