Bs there is over a yard of distance when McAvoy puts the elbow to the head and drives his head in the boards. Just because the elbow wasn’t “extended” doesn’t mean he didn’t know what he was attempting. The play on Dahlin, Doan and the Duck check in game one warrant a response. Objective thought requires all the facts.

@rustymac26 Let’s talk about context. McAvoy had several dirty plays in the minutes leading up to this. He needed to receive a message. He was running around like a sore loser and paid the price.

I truly don’t understand why people aren’t also equally appalled at Benson’s slewfoot. Yes, the stick slash is way more dangerous and far more violent and cannot happen. He will be suspended likely for 3-5 games. Benson slew-footed him up 4-1 in the final 2 minutes of a series-ending win, on a clear icing after Benson lost the race. McAvoy is 100% wrong for the slash, put blatantly ignoring context seems foolish to me.

Benson should get suspended as many games as Charlie. Series is over he just wants to hurt him. The chances of a catastrophic injury from that slew foot vs the 2 handed is much greater. You won’t tear an ACL with a slash. He’s a bad dude. Hopefully he gets put in a box next series.
