Total investment into Folks from that round alone brought the project to $6.2M raised. David Garcia the CEO of Borderless also participated personally as an angel investor (amount not dislcosed) and that same firm is currently being sued in Florida for: - misappropriation of trade secrets - breach of fiduciary duty - civil theft - civil conspiracy - fraudulent inducement Not allegations from crypto twitter/x. Actual court filings. Active lawsuit. Lake County Florida Case No. 35-2021-CA-000985 filed June 2021 by CoinFabrik / Nektra vs Borderless Capital, David Garcia, Rand Labs and Pablo Yabo. Borderless tried to get it dismissed. They appealed. Florida 5th District Court of Appeal said no and affirmed in July 2023. still going as of 2024. Now ask yourself why a protocol managing hundreds of millions in user deposits across lending pools, liquid staking and cross-chain vaults decided to take lead investment money from a firm carrying this kind of active legal baggage. Civil theft and civil conspiracy are not contract disputes. Those are allegations that Borderless and its CEO David Garcia participated in taking something that wasnt theirs. Then look at that chart. $48 to $0.87. Same playbook. VCs get in early.Tokens unlock. Retail holds the bag. $ALGO holders already lived this movie. $FOLKS holders are living it now. Different token same people same result. The documents are all public. This is not fud. December 2025 Folks announced a "$10M to $15M incentive program" for xChain V2, 1 million FOLKS tokens they promised users as rewards for the launch. xChain V2 was supposed to launch H1 2026. We are in April 2026. It has not launched and those same 1 million tokens they called "$10M+" are now worth approximately $870,000. The "$10M incentive program" has lost over 90% of its value before a single token has been handed out. No mention of xChain V2 since and we're less than 2 months away from H1 coming to a close on June 30, 2026. Then this... just 6 days ago on March 31, 2026 the CEO of Folks Finance himself posted this and Folks Finance reposted it: "We have recently identified a situation involving an early supporter who has attempted to transfer their token allocation still subject to original lock schedule to third parties in an unauthorized manner. For clarity this allocation has been invalidated and no longer exists." The token is at $0.87. No mention of xChain V2 since December. The "$10M incentive program" is worth under $870K and now someone on the inside with a locked allocation tried to find a back door to dump on you anyway. Folks Finance reposted it with zero details on who. No name. No accountability. Just vague enough to say something happened without telling you anything that actually matters. Moral of the story... #DYOR
