Ordinal Punks have a more diverse set of traits compared to the classic perception of an Alien Punk 👽 (thanks @ord_net for displaying them correctly) Which one you like the most?

Alien on the move! The V1 of CryptoPunk #2890 was just sold for 180 eth on the original native contract. @straybits claimed this punk in 2017 and has been holding it ever since. This is the first alien sale on either contract we've seen in a long time!

The significance of today’s Alien Punk sale goes beyond the asset itself. It’s a reminder that V1 is a living ecosystem powered by collectors who value provenance and legacy. Every milestone like this strengthens the foundation, brings more eyes to the community, and pushes V1 into its next era.

@OrdinalPunks It sucks getting impersonated by these lowlife scammers, but I guess it means we're on people's radar now.

There is someone trying to impersonate us on X, double check the username, the fake one starts with "_", see attached image 👇 Keep your eyes open and don't fall for scams. This is annoying but also kind of bullish... You don't bother impersonating useless accounts, right? 🙃

@OrdinalPunks And there are 100 Ordinal Punks among the first 642 inscriptions ever made on Bitcoin. A remarkable 100 out of Bitcoin's first 642 inscriptions!

The sub 100 and sub 1k filters were a useful feature on ME. People used them to track what was listed, what was moving, and where early inscription sentiment was forming. Great to see ord.net adding that layer too 😎 Ordinal Punks have been there from the start: 100 pieces, all within the first 650 inscriptions on Bitcoin. Provenance first 🥇 @sub1k_ordinals

Open house reminder: the Ordinal Punks Discord is not holders-only. Hop in and let’s chat about digital art, NFTs, and crypto culture. The best conversations happen when the market gets quiet and everyone becomes more thoughtful. Punks, apes, penguins, cats, monkes, puppets, wizards, humans too. Whole zoo welcome. Some more context about Chinese ape community. Actually, Chinese BAYC community has been a major force in the ecosystem since May 1st, 2021. Back during the early bathroom pixel wars, Chinese apes occupied a massive section near the bottom. Some OGs probably still remember that mysterious gray area. 😂 A dedicated Chinese ape fund was later formed and accumulated 50+ BAYCs, including #7527, the legendary golden ape that still hasn't been sold to this day. What many people outside China don't realize is that our social layer was never built on X. It has always lived inside private WeChat groups. Many of those groups have stayed maxed out for years. A huge amount of BAYC, MAYC, and Otherside grails are quietly held by Chinese collectors as well. Some of the rarest assets in the ecosystem ended up in the hands of OG Chinese apes (@vis_eth , @haoxitong , @Keboqi etc.) Many Chinese holders rarely X, but they tend to hold for an extremely long time. Chinese apes were never the loudest on X, but they've consistently been among the strongest holders. The Chinese community also understands identity, social circles, and club culture on a very deep level. We simply express it differently. So from our perspective, China isn't "waking up" to BAYC again. A lot of us simply never left. What's changing now is that newer Chinese collectors are becoming more public, more social, and more willing to reconnect with the global club again. That's why Yuga's upcoming Asia roadshow could matter more than people expect. And none of this reconnection happens without bridges like @veratheape. She's been doing the quiet work of keeping the Chinese and global communities linked, kudos to her, and to every ape helping make that happen. Bored Ape Yacht Club. 互联网上最好的俱乐部!

Anyone else noticed that there’s been more new apes from China trying to connect with the club? They’re usually Chinese-speaking & when asked, they share their BAYC profile links They show a lot of excitement towards BAYC too China is waking up to BAYC again This is bullish for @mfigge’s upcoming Yuga roadshow in Asia. I bet more will return to monke then Of course, this new wave of China support wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of my sister, @veratheape. Kudos to my pink ape sister 💗🦍

Unwrapped my V1 today. And honestly… it felt far more meaningful to me than simply “moving an asset.” I didn’t buy a V1 because I thought it would outperform financially. I bought one because I believe what CryptoPunks unlocked... Digitally native ownership, identity, provenance, permanence, networked culture is one of the most important technological and cultural shifts of the internet era. An enormous amount of what exists onchain today is downstream of what @matthall2000 and @pents90 pulled off in 2017. So being able to unwrap my Punk and interact directly with that original genesis contract for the first time felt... significant. Like touching a foundational layer of internet history more directly. Very grateful to @jalilwahdat and @yougogirl_eth for caring enough about provenance, continuity, and onchain purity to explore this path. I genuinely don’t think people fully appreciate how important this development may turn out to be long term.

👀 This potentially removes one of the biggest structural weaknesses in the V1 thesis... the reliance on wrappers. Historically, wrapped V1s always carried an awkward break in provenance/market continuity. You weren’t interacting directly with the original asset and its native transactional history. The timing here is also fascinating. At almost the exact same time @nodefnd is leaning into the idea that “the marketplace is part of the artwork" @jalilwahdat appears to have found a way to preserve native market continuity around the original V1 contract itself. This 💯 strengthens the historical and provenance case for V1s in a way that feels conceptually cleaner, more coherent... and MUCH harder to dismiss. We also can’t ignore the social baggage surrounding the wrapper itself, and the extent to which that likely impacted broader acceptance of V1s. VERY curious to see how this plays out longer term…

I’m building a company in L.A. right now. It was worth $1 billion plus 3 years ago & it failed. Bought it & it will be worth that again. The question is, will it be L.A. based? Those in power need to at least say shit that makes sense. So I’ll ride with @spencerpratt
