What's your take on how recommendation systems should balance hyper-personalization with the need to broaden our horizons?

On one hand, relevant suggestions save us time and introduce us to things we genuinely love. On the other, if our feeds only show us what we already know or agree with, where does true discovery, serendipity, or exposure to diverse perspectives fit in?

Is the ultimate goal of personalization a perfectly curated world, tailored to our every whim, or are we inadvertently building sophisticated echo chambers? There's a fine line.
