We have a confession 🌮 We’ve been sending tacos outside of Slack and Teams for years — via texts, emails, and DMs — even though they didn’t count toward any leaderboard. (It’s a professional deformation. We accept it.)

The @stellarwp team is so fun. We have an internal "taco bot" that allows team members to reward each other with virtual tacos in slack. Everybody gets 5 per day to distribute. There's a leaderboard involved. I gave out the most tacos in 2024, and yesterday I got 12 beef tacos from @jimboystacos delivered via @goldbelly to my house as a reward. My kids gave them rave reviews.

It’s honestly bizarre that tech companies don’t give every employee $1k-10k worth of tips they are forced to distribute to coworkers as form of salary. Why are bosses the only people who set comp levels? Manage up! Low tech way to do this: Expense Amazon gift cards
