If you're vibecoding a B2C app, I’m probably more invested in your success than 99.99% of people out there (@RevenueCat only makes money when you make money) But time for a little reality check

We’re giving away $1,000,000! 🙌 We’re so excited to be a part of RevenueCat’s Shipaton 2026. To support their awesome community, we’re giving developers $1,000 in matching credits on our platform! On top of that, the entire Noise team and I are going to be providing as much advice and support through different mediums to help all developers finish the event as experts marketers as well 😎 Let’s ship! 🚢🐱🐿️

@codingMarine With fewer users, it'll just take more time. Main risk if you have a *very* low number of users come in (ie, one per day), you're not just testing whatever the experiment is, you're also testing how a user acquired on a tuesday compares to a user acquired on a wednesday

@HHaandr Question I always wonder is there a minimum customer count that is need to make experiments useful? Or just go for it?

Confidence on a winner would usually be x Sure, the actual end result might not be quite this positive, but chances are very high that the winning variant here would be the winner even at a larger sample size More interesting is the question if it would remain the winner after 3, 6, 12 months. That’s why we always tell people to check back in on old experiments regularly

@HHaandr But learn how to run them first! It’s too easy to get fooled into a good result. Like in this experiment the numbers are pretty low. So high chance this is a false positive

@HHaandr @RevenueCat Hi Rik, Thank you so much for taking the time to review my app today. Talking with you was the highlight of my day! I really appreciate your thoughtful feedback. I’ll definitely put your suggestions into practice. I’ll work on my English for next time. 😄 Thank you again!

The one slide from my @RevenueCat #Shipaton Cafe talk in Tokyo you should see How do small apps compete with giants? Make your idea smaller & more specific Everything gets easier: product decisions, marketing, explaining the app and, most importantly, finding your first users

@aminemat @dev_mario 😂 Apple receipt PTSD is definitely the core problem we solve And if you'd ever build a new app, now's a great time: We kicked off Shipaton 2026, and the Grand Prize is $100k cash 💸

@HHaandr @dev_mario Oh you don’t have to convince me! I don’t want to look at an Apple receipt ever again (I still have PTSD from seeing two original transaction ids in the same receipt even thought that’s supposed to be the unique id for the user) If I ever build an app I’m using RC right away!

A developer is mad about paying an extra $15 because RevenueCat charges based on gross revenue, not net revenue.

@iappclubs @dev_mario No worries. I - unfortunately - know way more about accounting for iOS applications then anybody should. I sometimes wake up screaming "revenue reconciliation" in the middle of the night

"not everyone needs dynamic paywalls or retention messaging (which is just an api endpoint, let’s not over complicate it either 😉)" I'd argue that everyone should use retention messaging. It takes 5 minutes to set up, and the save rate is double digits. Even if you make a little, that adds up to more than you'd pay us And yes, it's "just an api endpoint", but you need to build something that talks to that api endpoint with specific offers based on the user that's trying to cancel. That's not impossible, but it's time you could spend working on something else The end-result is that you don't build it (or you build it later). The money you lost there is more than you'd pay us That's true for retention messaging, that's true for refund handling, and it's true for most of the things we build and ship: We think about these things so you don't have to. If that doesn't produce way more than 1% of incremental revenue, we're not doing our job and you should definitely just build something yourself

Yes people don’t know how hard it is to deal with IAP (I built an in-house IAP backend from scratch so trust me, I know) but not everyone needs dynamic paywalls or retention messaging (which is just an api endpoint, let’s not over complicate it either 😉) There’s a gap in education but taking a percentage of gross revenue from small creators might be the thing to change

When you display proceeds in RevenueCat, that's exactly what we show That doesn't necessarily work for accounting: There's always a discrepancy between what Apple tells you you make and what Apple pays out. For a bunch of reasons, but the easiest to explain (and most annoying one) is how they handle currency conversion: Apple reports your earnings in USD, based on the currency conversion rate when the transaction takes place Apple often doesn't actually execute the transaction on the date they report it, though, and when they pay you out, they'll pay based on the conversion rate when the transaction took place All currency conversion rates fluctuate, and sometimes they fluctuate a lot We're working on some stuff that would be useful for accounting, but it's a non-trivial problem

@dev_mario Well, his point isn't about paying the $45 per month. He's clearly asking to see the actual revenue numbers in RevenueCat, so he doesn't have to keep checking App Store Connect to track his income and accounting. It's a valid request.

@HHaandr What if I were to ship multiple apps in August and September? Is it possible to enter more than 1 app into Shipaton?

At @RevenueCat's #Shipaton kickoff, the staff, DJ, and dancers started asking how they could join Then the DJ pulled out his phone and showed me the app he was already building with @Replit Everyone can be a developer now If you’re on the fence: build the thing. Join Shipaton
