@hibruinationpod Trade him. We took his contract in exchange for Zellers and he was never a part of the long-term plan. If they had any stones, they would’ve traded him at this deadline but the line was clicking. Now, you move him. If for no other reason than to clear cap space/roster spot
English

What to do with Casey Mittlestadt?
The 27yr old LW/C is coming off a 42-point campaign in 71 Games, carrying a +12.
He has one year remaining on his $5.75M
Does he have value? Should the Bruins try to trade him?

8 x $8.5M AAV for Darren Raddysh in Toronto

@hibruinationpod What about lysell, what are they going to do with him
English

What to do with Matthew Poitras?
The 22-year-old right-shot Center is an RFA this offseason.
He was unable to crack the opening-day roster last year, but he has had an impact when called up.
Is it time to move on, or give him a reasonable shot?

@RMB316 Robertson is not worth the draft compensation at that value.
English

@RMB316 Theyre not going to offersheet Robertson. Cost at the offersheet is way more than he is worth

The Bruins have acquired a 2026 fourth-round draft pick (104th overall) and a 2026 fifth-round draft pick (157th overall) from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for the rights to forward Andre Gasseau and a 2026 fourth-round draft pick (120th overall).

This is amazing for Bergeron and beyond well deserved.
Congrats to one of the greatest to put on the spoked- B

Boston Bruins@NHLBruins
To the rafters. The #NHLBruins are proud to announce that during the upcoming 2026-27 season, the club will bestow its highest honor upon Patrice Bergeron by retiring his No. 37.
English

After the small stint in the big club. Do you think James Hagens will make the Bruins' opening-night roster out of training camp?
#NHLbruins
Lets discuss below!

English

@billyho179 @officialbob26 @NyPuck51818 He won't be in the press box. That does nothing for his development. He will either be on the opening night roster and play significantly in the season or he will be in providence. No in-between
English

@hibruinationpod @officialbob26 @NyPuck51818 He won't help the team until he gets a few years under his belt. He will be up on level 9 a lot next season. He needs to get bigger & stronger.
English

@billyho179 @officialbob26 @NyPuck51818 He was a +2 had 1pt in seven games at 19yrs old playing against other NHL talent and more talented teams. I wouldn't call that too bad either.
English

@hibruinationpod @officialbob26 @NyPuck51818 Not that tournament. He was the worst player on the team.
English

The mere take is to observe that decisions are not made just on raw talent alone. It is possible a kid can have a bad tournament while simultaneoulsy not being deployed where he fits the best of his abilities. As it was noted when his performance drastically improved when he played the center role during worlds by several outlets. Otherwise, they misdeployed him as a wing.
English

@hibruinationpod @NyPuck51818 My God. How do you have a Bruins podcast and make this take in all seriousness? Olympics Team USA was best of the best. Worlds Team USA was Matthew Tkachuk and a bunch of 4th liners. Lohrei was the #1D for Christs sake lmao
English

@NyPuck51818 There were several reasons for the US roster. None of which are applicable to the Bruins. Cole Caufield didn't make team USA for the Olympics
English

@hibruinationpod I got a bit scared when he couldn't crack a severely watered down USA Hockey World Championship roster. I think he's going to have to work pretty hard if he wants to crack the NHL roster. He clearly wasn't ready this year - by the Bruins standards and USA Hockey.
English

I'm aware of the NMC and how they work
Yet teams find a way to trade guys with NMC every year
I like Carlson and he would be a great add. You could try to move lohrei and jokiharu but that nets you only 6.2M. Still helps, but then you have a bunch of old d and will be amongst the highest paid defense group in the league locked in for a few years.
The last thing you want to do is be completely hamstrung with other FA's or trades cap wise
English

YOU'RE the GM
John Carlson is testing Free Agency.
The 36-year-old right d-man is coming off a 60-point season with a +9 and former cap hit of $8M AAV.
Should the Bruins entertain him?
What would you offer if you wanted him?

English

There needs to be an understanding on how NMCs work. Players would have to waive them, and be convinced it is worth it. Neither Lindholms are going to do that. You would be looking at the Mittlestadts, Lohreis, Jokiharjus, and Zacha's that have less trade protection to be moved before either of them. The money is there if we want it to be.
English

@hibruinationpod you don't NEED to but there goes a lot of salary you could have improved the offense if you don't. We would have about $40m spent on the back end
English

WHO AM I?!
Can you figure out who I am?
How many hints did it take you? Did you need any at all?
