@bertram_the_mom I was cool before it was cool, then, I guess. But I definitely have liked having 4, and they seem to have liked growing up that way (they prioritize each other with weekly calls and annual vacations, still, when they don't have to).

Having four children is very chic. Higher end of normal. Not trad sourdough territory. Big enough so kids can pick btwn siblings, not so big they get lost in the crowd. Can easily imagine a highly educated woman starting in her late 20s or 30s having four children.

14 year old kid in my neighborhood came by my house.
Very sharp. Polite, “Yes Sir” and “No Sir”. Business card and everything.
Offered to power wash, soap, and clean out my garbage cans.
$25/can.
I said, sure. Why not. They’re gross. I’ve got 2, so gave him $50.
I asked how many houses he did in our neighborhood.
“All of them. About 60.”
And how often do you do them?
“I try to do quarterly.”
$3000 a quarter for a freshman.
Of course…he also does power washing, snow shoveling, window cleaning, all of the above.
Building a mailing list and referrals. Said he’s recruited two friends to help him do the work.
Savvy kid. Going to do well in this world.

I was TODAY years old when I found out astronauts don’t come back to Earth in the rocket 🚀Like the rocket really just drops them off in space and is like “aight imma head out”???
And when they come back… it’s in a tiny capsule…
and they parachute into the ocean or a desert..WAITING to be picked up by a boat or helicopter like Uber 😭
Why did I really think they came back in the same rocket ship and just… landed?
Be honest… y’all knew this already or we all just out here learning together?? 👀🤯

@Vitaminndeee My own experience with a pregnant high school classmate, she was r*ped by her stepdad, and then her mom kicked her out. So, yeah, supported her in any way we could, including hiding it from the molester priest principal of school (he liked boys, though), so she could stay.

@ThatRosaryGirl Right? My grandfathers were 67 and 80. One grandmother was 85. Only one grandparent (101) would have gotten to retire, and at 85, she could keep up with my elementary-aged kids, but not my preschooler.
