I’m seeing a lot of people say, “Good thing I know how to sew!” And yes, that is absolutely a good thing. But when I say garment industry, I mean all of it. Needles. Thread. Buttons. Fabric. Zippers. Sewing machine parts. All the bits & bobs that aren’t made domestically anymore

Quick reminder that clothes will be affected by these tariffs too. America does not produce anything related to the garment industry at a scale sufficient to clothe all Americans. That will not change because it’s easier to raise prices than resurrect an entire industry.

@OgLakyn and also like, there's ways to obtain bright clothes that don't involve a fast fashion haul. Rit dye exists. Yarn. Patches. Embroidery. Paint. MAKE SOMETHING. Customize something.

Taking fashion risks is directly correlated with more progressive thinking and in a time where homogeneity is being pushed, encouraged and rewarded, it’s absolutely a form of protest. It also says “thrift” which, in a lot of cases, *can* be a way to protest corporations!

At this time, I was one of the very few people to write Wonder Woman who had actually given birth. So the sunshine on the beach origin always struck me as a very male interpretation. I wanted her to have a birth that was more fraught, but still beautiful because it cost more.
