Broadcasting baseball with Eddie Romero, Brian Abraham and @cooperkboardman. One of them will have a home run call.

@WesJohnson27 @BBGreatMoments There are probably lots of others in the 500-505 range, btw. Not saying these are the only ones.

@BBGreatMoments @hittracker curious Greg’s thoughts on this as he would know

@WesJohnson27 @BBGreatMoments OK, here goes (haven't stirred this pot in a while!)
1-4. Surely impressive all but no.
5. No (and double typo)
6. Close, but no; hard to verify due to camera work
7. No (verifiably landed inside iron fence)
8. Yes, verified that one myself from excellent video)
9. No.
10. Yes

@pierreanalytics Happy for you, Neil! Hoping you guys have a nice deep run!

@mike_petriello And I thought it was annoying listening to people tell me <insert old time ballplayer> hit one that went through the pitcher’s legs and was still going up when it left the stadium…

you all *have to* stop asking the bad AI to do baseball analysis

No, that's incorrect. Using Raleigh's actual 2025 batted ball data from Statcast, analyses from FanGraphs, Baseball Savant, and other sources estimate he'd have 65-70 HRs if all home games were at Yankee Stadium—up from his actual 60—due to its shorter right-field porch favoring lefty pull power. The prior 53 figure was a miscalculation.

I’m honored to have been asked to contribute (alongside @alexspeier, @mike_petriello, @Kurkjian_ESPN and others) to an article about the Red Seat Homer by the great Ted Willams:

@polishbaseball Thanks for the heads-up, just put an order in with this code! @polishbaseball

@billjamesonline I can personally vouch that lasers and nukes resent being lumped in with AI…

@bymichaelrosen @fangraphs I did, thanks! Sorry about the tone, it was a bit much!

@ZackScottSports I did work with Will while in Boston, and he was great! Super baseball mind, super human being! I never doubted for a moment that he would get his chance to manage!
English

I was hoping Will would get this gig. I didn't work with him in Boston or Texas, but he impressed me when we interviewed him for the Red Sox manager position before bringing Alex Cora back. At the time, I felt his first managerial job should be in a place with lower expectations than Boston. That was four years ago, and he has since worked with two great, though different, managers: AC and Bochy. This seems like an ideal spot to get his feet wet. #whitesox #mlb

The White Sox are hiring Will Venable as their new manager, per @scottmerkin

@drivelinekyle I like to say that people who believe they can’t do something and people who believe they can are both right.

@tangotiger Verdugo ran hard out of the box, made an aggressive decision to try for second in an appropriate situation (none out, bases empty) and forced a perfect play (read, exchange, throw) from Pham (and a nice tag). This glass is all the way full, great play by all involved.

If you are a glass half-full kind of person, you mention Tommy Pham
If you are a glass half-empty kind of person, you mention Alex Verdugo

A perfect throw from Tommy Pham prevents a leadoff double 💪

@KRob8753 Sort of reminds me of when he wished everyone “Happy Good Friday”…

@NESN A great guy who works really hard! So glad to see him make the Show! Go Niko!
