@gm8arv That was it! Renaming to 2020-03-17-07-59-35_64.bmp worked. I will continue tinkering with this. Thanks!

@usa_satcom this is all i'm getting with the little antenna. it's supposed to be polarized (it's a turnstile in a pot), but the gain is too low. time to build a helix feed. do you think a 80cm prime would work?

@hjf depends on the width of the signal. the noaa/meteor will be the easiest since they are less symbol rates. remember required polarization is RHCP - if you use linear you get a 3dB hit and it won't matter which polarization you use since you need circular and you are using linear.

@usa_satcom what's the required SNR to decode HRPT? I tried 9A4QV's cooking pot antenna but couldn't get more than 3-5dB SNR (it doesn't seem to work for me, reversing polarization doesn't change the level of reception)

@Nooelec I am a bit disappointed by this one. I received it last friday. It's overloaded by my HF transmitter (100W, 20M band). The SAWbird GOES works fine under those conditions though.

@lucasteske I didn't make any changes yet and I got a viterbi rate around 70 :) I don't know if I even have to!

@hjf Should work, almost the size of my active GOES antenna (but mine has a 1.694MHz feed). Just make sure you make the changes on the feed to work on 1.7GHz~

@lucasteske do you really need a 2M antenna for GOES? I want to capture images from it but I can't fit that size antenna in my roof. How come he's using apparently just a 23dBi wifi one? youtube.com/watch?v=jGWFg7…
