@retroniccs I agree with all, but with flow, now there is 1000 Google Flow Credits, and 1000 AI credits. You can use both in Google Flow, but it's great that there is seperate credits for flow as well.

Google has lost • Usage limits • 1000 extra credits added to everyone who uses flow and removed it a few hours later 🤡 • 3.5 flash is too expensive • No new image generation • most new features coming later this summer • 3.5 pro next month A disaster for goggle

@sporadica Composer 2.5 showed meaningful gains and improvements to their RL training systems. I do expect Grok 4.4 (or 5) to be massively better , as an attempt to catch up to the frontier

even MORE xAI compute being leased to Anthropic! good business for both, but man, i can't help but get the feeling that xAI as a frontier model company is dead (while xAI the compute provider is coming alive)

We’re expanding our partnership with @SpaceX, and will be scaling up on GB200 capacity in Colossus 2 throughout June. Appreciate @elonmusk and the team helping us find good homes for the Claudes.

Okay this is absolutely incredible. This is what AI should be used for, enhancing people’s lives. Not replacing human creativity with slop. I wonder if this uses an on-device model or if Apple’s PCC multi modality has just improved a lot.

Apple has just unveiled the first Apple Intelligence coming in iOS 27: Now with Apple Intelligence, VoiceOver is more powerful than ever in helping users who are blind or have low vision explore their surroundings and onscreen images.

holy cope they are further behind than Meta, xAI and all of the chinese labs they will probably only replicate Mythos in 1-2 years
elie@eliebakouch

Arthur Mensch answers to the french representatives: "our (mistral) models are capable of finding all the vulnerabilities found by mythos" "There are obviously people asking if they can buy us. We answer [no] because that's not our mission, and our mission is to be independent, [...] If you succeed, you don't get acquired. If you get acquired, in a way, you've failed" some numbers: > 1B R&D spend at Mistral this year > at Mistral 10% of salary mass is spent on tokens > estimates that 1 employee (in general, not at mistral) will consumes on average ~1kW in tokens per year, which is ~10k$ > 1GW datacenter is $50B capex over 5 years. you can expect to make 2x revenue. electricity captures ~10% of value. > revenue is 30% in France, rest of Europe is ~45%. public sector share is 20% with 10% in France. > a bit less than 30% of Mistral capital is held by US VCs > Mistral's goal is 1GW in 2029 > they train/will train bigger models internally and distill them to serve to customers > Mistral plays only a small part in the 35B investment (by MGX from UAE) in France, in the "campus AI" project announced at the AI summit earlier this year some of their current clusters: > 40MW in France > 25MW in Sweden > 80MW in France (next year) > they train models on "10s of MW", mention that they need the gpu to be collocated to train model > insists on the fact that EU/France advantage for building datacenters is nuclear power, which leads to less carbon footprint

@LLMJunky So far it's somewhere between Sonnet 4.6 and Opus 4.6, closer to Opus, made a few more blunders, but also base slightly better in some other nuances

The next BIG Grok model is (partly) done training, and appears to be quite strong. Elon in the past has not sugarcoated Grok models not being the strongest when it comes to coding. This change in tone bodes well, and Cursor's post training will only make it better. I'll be excited to see a new entrant into the competition.

@beffjezos Our recently completed Grok V9 1.5T run is looking great and that is before Cursor data is added in supplemental training

The version numbers are a little confusing and deserve some explanation. Internally, we are working on version 9 of our new foundation model, which is 1.5T params. This is substantially better in every way than v8: data curation, training recipe, size, etc. It is also optimized to run on a Blackwells. The public facing v4.2 is based on foundation model v8, trained on Hoppers, with significant shortfalls in training data quality, comprehensiveness and proportionality. It is also only 0.5T in size. The difference between Grok foundation model 8 and 9 is gigantic.

Impressions so far: Grok Build interface is actually really nice. Now as soon as xAI has a SOTA model, it could very well become competitive with Codex / Claude Code overnight

@yacineMTB CLAUDE.md + PostToolUse hooks are the actual reason I stayed — per-repo guardrails that travel with the codebase rather than living in some cloud config. Nobody else built that.
