The current estimated cost to connect San Francisco and Los Angeles by high-speed rail is $126 billion, says Anthony Williams, a California High-Speed Rail Authority board member. Can the project succeed without federal funding? cbsn.ws/4sOE4sV

The Financial Times is reporting something that should be front-page news everywhere.
Pete Hegseth didn’t just help design the Iran war. He championed it publicly, cheered it on, and sold it to the American people. And according to the Financial Times, while his own department was in the final stages of preparing to launch it, his broker at Morgan Stanley was attempting to make a multimillion-dollar investment in the defense companies that build the weapons we used to fight it.
The investment didn’t ultimately go through, but only because the fund wasn’t yet available on Morgan Stanley’s platform. Not because anyone stopped it.
If these reports are accurate, the Secretary of Defense was positioned to profit from a war he helped start, using information no private investor could ever have. That is a profound betrayal of every service member he commands, and of every American who trusted this Administration with their national security.
No one should be cashing in on privileged information while lives and national security are on the line.

Lisa Su just dropped a massive reality check on the state of the AI hardware scramble, and the sheer scale of what is coming is wild. If you asked her six months ago, demand was just "strong." But now? The entire landscape has shifted into absolute overdrive.
She specifically noted that in the last 60 to 90 days, there has been a massive acceleration, especially when looking at the forecasts and demand patterns for 2026. The most insane takeaway is her blunt assessment that "there's not enough compute out there for everything that wants to be done." It is a complete bottleneck of global ambition versus available silicon.
What is really flying under the radar here is that this isn't exclusively a GPU story anymore. The desire to ramp compute quickly for heavy AI enterprise workloads is actively pulling massive CPU content right along with it. The demand is practically insatiable across the entire board. The heavyweights are scrambling, the trenches are fighting for allocation, and the hardware supercycle is officially accelerating to a whole new level.

Trump clearly erred by not consulting allies before launching joint US-Israeli strikes against Iran. Political support from our key partners wouldn’t have compromised the military operation, no matter what the Isolationists say.

The "leave no man behind" doctrine is actually a strategic weakness disguised as a virtue.
Name one other military on earth that destroys 6 aircraft and fights a ground battle inside a sovereign nation to recover one pilot.
You can't. Because no other military confuses tactical sentimentality with strategic logic.
Soldiers serve the mission. The mission doesn't serve the soldier.
The US has now established that Iran can shoot down an F-15, then watch America spend $300M and expose Delta Force trying to prove it didn't happen.
That's not military doctrine. That's politics with weapons.
A military that cannot accept the risk of loss cannot win wars. The US hasn't won one since 1945.

Lose all this to rescue 1 pilot and call it your greatest military success of all time.

@FareedZakaria so sorry fareed it's clear you were pulling otherwise -- we rescued our pilots
and its now up to the Iranian theologians -- and they know as does the world -- Trump is not bluffing . . .
English
@GeraldoRivera bad news Geraldo -- our second pilot has been rescued
and there are reports that the regime in the first major city win Iran is about to fall
and Iran has only 24 hours to open the strait to everyone
sorry i know you were pulling for the other side
