Denis Potvin, Hall of Famer and 4x Stanley Cup champion, put up 54 points as a rookie defenseman in 1973-74 and is considered one of the foundational cornerstones of the greatest American sports dynasty of all time. Matthew Schaefer passing that mark more than 50 years later is incredibly significant because it was a benchmark set by one of the most important players the organization has ever had.
