Worst part of bootstrapping a SaaS on the side: momentum is 100% dependent on your time. I'm experiencing that heavily this week. @itsjustamar's advice: start simple with a VA to generate leads. It's a small but effective step on the path to scaling.

Adjustments I'm making Calls are the only thing I find easy/energizing on days like today (I'm an extrovert) - Today I started my day with calls to my CTO and @holler for a long overdue catchup I'll also be running any interactions I find stressful (politics etc) by the wife

I'm sleep deprived today which is rare, and puts me in a cranky mood. It's days like today that I'm prone to fights on the internet and showing frustration in unhealthy ways. Knowing that is the first step to fighting it though and simply acknowledging it publicly helps a lot.

@study_web_dev Don’t think we are disagreeing on that front Simply pointing out that there are many examples of why having a job is better than freelancing Single boss, cheap health insurance, weekends, and more

@holler Who says it wasn’t stressful? :) And there are many factors involved with stress. It’s not too hard to make 300k /yr with freelancing or any business, but it boils down to a few key aspects. More profit + more people doing work = less stress. A lot has got to do with $

@david_perell I went to a community college for two years and the professors were better than the $40k+ / yr college I attended later. The interaction though is undervalued ... you aren’t just paying for content

I stopped believing in college when the lectures I watched for free on YouTube were better than the ones I paid $40,000 a year for

Without officially launching Holler, it's pretty clear that cold email is an incredible acquisition channel. It's super manual but a great way to get the flywheel of organic acquisition going. It's also one of the most rewarding approaches as I get to connect with individuals.

We won't sign NDAs either, but don't hold it against a founder if they ask. I don't get why some investors view asking about an NDA as such a negative signal. Sure, asking a VC to sign an NDA may be naive, but not nearly as naive as the questions VCs ask during pitch meetings.😅
Mac The VC@MacConwell

Hey founders, how many of you have ever given a VC an NDA only to find out later that VCs don't sign them and aren't fans of entrepreneurs even suggesting them. 🙋🏾‍♂️ me too (If you've never heard this and want some information on why, just ask) #vc #startups #funding #founders
