@dipoaina1 They have Gov @seyimakinde, That's why the state is progressing. May God help us all, so he won't hand over the state to backward, corrupt, and retarded people. I think Osun's major problem right now is incompetent leaders.

Oyo State was never the capital of Nigeria, is landlocked, and has been governed by the opposition for almost eight years. Yet, it generated ₦253.67 billion in VAT. Third in the country. Osun State, which was carved out of Oyo and shares a border with it, generated just ₦13.25 billion in VAT, less than 10% of Oyo’s figure.😔 If you are from my state, please take a few minutes to think about this. Leave politics aside for a moment and look at the numbers rationally. The question is not whether one state is better than the other. The question is: what exactly is Oyo doing differently? Sometimes, the numbers are telling us something that our political sentiments are preventing us from seeing. That’s why you hardly see me criticizing Seyi Makinde…

@ejykmykel1 It's even unsafe to be digging barehands in random people's pockets like this. Is it that we don't have what it takes for effective policing or we're just intellectually bankrupt to that level, since all these years?

@heinox64428 I believe him. The insecurity bullshit got worse to a point, and we all started thinking the government was complicit. With all the brilliant minds we have, when the leadership fails to do the right thing, these are the kinds of results we get.

This is incredibly crass coming from a South African diplomat. Inflammatory rhetoric from politicians like this is what fuels anti-immigrant hostility, and the lacklustere approach to stop the mob makes you wonder if the SA government does not tacitly support the mob violence.

[WATCH] Responding to reports that the South African government should pay compensation to Nigerian nationals who left their properties in South Africa fearing alleged xenophobic attacks, Ntshavheni says no payment will be made by  government. #Newzroom405

South Africa 🇿🇦 has firmly rejected calls to pay compensation to Nigerian nationals 🇳🇬 who left properties behind during recent anti-immigration protests. Minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni said the government will not make any compensation payments. She said people who legally own registered assets, including houses, cars, and businesses, are free to sell them through the normal market. The government is not responsible for losses linked to people leaving out of fear, while informal or illegally occupied properties do not qualify for compensation. The issue comes as Nigeria continues to seek compensation through diplomatic channels for assets reportedly left behind by its citizens.
