I can't buy the central conceit of HGWT; that a man in San Francisco subscribes to newspapers throughout the west, using them to decide where he goes and who he helps. By the time the information was published, and the newspaper made its way to SF the problem would likely be resolved.

There were lots of compelling Western leads in 1950s television: Matt Dillon, Bat Masterson, Josh Randall, Mr. Favor and Rowdy Yates...but none as mysterious, interesting, capable and nuanced as Paladin, a Knight without armor in a savage land. There's a lot of Paladin in Flint.

@AnthonyDiComo This Michigan Mets fan started to lose interest last year when a team of stumblebums sleepwalked its way out of the playoffs. More of the same this season makes me wonder if a losing team was the goal all along. How else could you spend so much on payroll and still stink?
