@ChiefEngineerCE Perhaps a punitive, scaling offense design may work...$1k, $10k, $100k, etc.

We would like a bill that makes hiring illegals a Federal offense with mandatory jail time, loss of business. Offer a $1000.00 reward for reporting. Charge that award to the employer. Should be easy. Congress-Senate prove you care about American labor. 🇺🇸

@ChiefEngineerCE If no reward is necessary, make it a fine. They work, hence why they're used and you mentioned it. $1M would work great but what's the endgame...reform, or punishment/bankruptcy? It should be significant enough to motivate/deter, while still being feasible to pay.

@ChiefEngineerCE You argued for a reward that also served as a penalty to offenders...I agreed, it's a great incentive/disincentive framework. You then contradicted your initial argument and stated reporters don't need further incentive in response to my suggestion to enhance the effect (?).

@SaltyGoat17 It’s fkking obscene how many ways we’ve been betrayed and sold out by so many people we trusted to represent us. Preexisting SBA loans to foreigners need to be updated with higher rates or debt called in entirely…fkk the terms and contract law, this is treasonous betrayal.

Applicants for government backed loans (SBA) now must provide a birth date and pass a citizenship check—something that "has never existed in the 72-year history" of the agency So what does that mean? We're going to see A LOT LESS foreign owned businesses in America WHY TF DID IT TAKE 7 DECADES TO FIGURE THIS OUT?!?

@ChiefEngineerCE I’d argue we go to $100k… Give a remedy grace period for preexisting violations and apply it rigidly to new offenses. Reminds me of an economics thought experiment…asking how safely drivers would drive if spikes were required to protrude from every steering wheel 😂

@RanTeeThree We warned them they wouldn't like what was behind this door if they decided to kick it in. They kicked it in...

It’s funny how the people who started the culture war suddenly don’t like how it’s going.

@WallStreetMav @seandsweeney @elonmusk All true, but there's a presumption these people/cultures are capable of building/maintaining the infrastructure and economy to support themselves. They weren't doing well before intervention which is why we intervened...they still aren't. There's a deeper fundamental issue.

$6.6 billion would just result in millions more in poverty living in countries with no price signals because all of that humanitarian aid is destroying their ability to build an economy. Your “empathy” is creating 100x more human misery. And then it spills out of Africa to other countries.

I believe that @elonmusk is entitled to the trillions and more that he may be worth in this lifetime for the value he has created. I also believe it would be the most baller move of all time to stroke a $6.6 billion check and end world hunger.

@geofflul @Hitchslap1 Have you ever studied physics? It's not just a book of patterns to absorb, it's explanations on why the patterns exist. It's training to understand and integrate fundamental conceptual mechanisms that govern physical systems so they can be identified and/or applied elsewhere.

@hoosiermd3 @Hitchslap1 The difference being that the knowledge already established in the field does not require you to identify the patterns yourself; they are laid out for you in textbooks

Given 30 years and extreme dedication, do you think a 90 IQ person could become a physicist?

@geofflul @Hitchslap1 Developing substantive knowledge of the field requires the exact skills the IQ test examines which the 90 IQ hypothetical individual proved to be inferior at...so concluding they'd develop substantive knowledge/understanding is contradictory and illogical.

@Hitchslap1 Depends on what you mean by “physicist” They could develop substantive knowledge of the field, though they would likely not make massively groundbreaking contributions

@Hitchslap1 Low IQ people struggle with abstraction and understanding/integrating complex concepts, have reduced working memory, and difficulty following/applying long branch logic. Given that and the lack of a standard for a physicist...sure, why not, but they'll be horrid at it.

@k0ncept Remove every politician tomorrow and surgery still happens, the grid stays up, rockets still launch, food still gets harvested. Remove the doctors, engineers, farmers, and operators instead and civilization ends within the week.
