The Bear S2 E7 - best representation of the highs and lows of hospitality that I've ever seen. Incredible TV.

@PlanetVictoria Yes…had issues with them myself. Had me do a load of work on a proposal in 48 hours and then…crickets. So rude.

I dial Pernod Ricard. "Hello, can you put me through to the press office please?" - 'Do you have a name?' "Do I have a name? Or do I have the name of the person who works in the press office?" - 'The name of the person you want to be transferred to. I can't help otherwise.' 🫤

@AdamMHyman @Kevingratton51 I wonder if there's ever a way to do this gracefully - if you're out and about & meet someone you think is great... should we be ok with someone saying 'if you're ever in the market for a new role, I think you might fit in well with us & we have some great opportunities...'

Chris Galvin also talking about staff being poached while out in the smoking area and gardening leave being implemented by some businesses when certain senior members of staff leave so they don’t take other staff with them.

@BigHospitality ...Questioned on this, he then said he hadn't stopped as him and his passenger had been out drinking and didn't want to get questioned by police themselves when they arrived to help me. Shame someone like this seemingly keeps winning...

@BigHospitality 1 car drove past while i waited. I recongised it was Larry and another chef. He didn't stop to help. When I went into work the next day despite most of the night in hospital (pressured into coming in) I find that Larry had lied to the head chef and said he'd stopped to help me...

Heard on the High Street. Coral Part 3. It appears an estate agent is also interested in the former Ladywell betting shop site. Do we really need another estate agent on the high street? So far it’s an estate agent, Turkish restaurant, and cafe/evening wine bar in the running.

Most people know the difference between good and bad. In hospitality though, it’s very important to work with the people who know the difference between good and great. 🦦

If 300,000-500,000 roles were lost in Hospitality during the various lockdowns why are so many Hospitality businesses finding it difficult to source team members for reopening? Has Furlough changed perceptions of how people wish to work in the future?
