Obviously all three haven't been named in Mark Dowd's Roscommon squad for Sunday v Mayo - but interesting to note that Brian Stack, Ruaidhri Fallon and Ben O'Carroll are all fit to play club football this evening with St. Brigid's. Great to see players out of 26 not go stagnant.

A family friend of mine has a black wife. He and her briefly considered moving to Ireland in the mid-90's. She, being a businesswoman, decided to scope out the environment there. She went to one of the medium-sized cities, and started mingling. Or rather, attempted to. She was met with near total societal rejection. Not overt racism, mind you, but simple rejection. The overwhelming majority of the native population simply could not see her as an equal, because up until then they had never seen a black person in their entire lives. To them she was a bizarre anomaly, something from another world. Many were surprised she spoke English with a British accent. Needless to say, she very quickly realized her prospects for employment or business were zero, and returned to Britain. The idea that Ireland was multicultural before the 2000's is blatant propaganda.

There’s not enough history written about the common people from pre-industrial times - too many kings and lords and battles. I’d imagine, for instance, the Battle of Agincourt meant nothing to the vast majority of peasants in France or England

What I’d do as a European graduate to escape the corporate rat race >Get into tech sales in Dublin 🇮🇪 (any language) >€70–100k starting comp >Switch jobs / get promoted every 18–24 months → +€20k jumps >0% capital gains tax in Ireland for expats on stocks >Build an aggressive portfolio → target €1M Then make the move: >Tech sales in Spain: Barcelona/Madrid 🇪🇸 >Beckham Law → 24% flat tax & 0% capital gains tax for 6y >Same job, but now it funds lifestyle not survival >Rooftop apartment, sun, freedom >Learn Spanish >Date spanish 10s >Drink red wine >Run at sunrise / sunset >Workout >Eat tapas >Keep investing like a maniac >Grow port to €5–10M >Follow Retail Mourinho to make it happen Endgame: >Liquidate (sell port without paying taxes) >Move to the coast or whatever country you want >Buy a house wherever you want >Build a family >Win life -RM

How do normal pubs compete with this?

This is what the GAA club life is about. Armagh champions Madden call in to see Tyrone champions Loughmacrory.

‘We need a voice for peace’ -all sane people prefer peace @catherinegalway. However you are against arming ourselves to protect ourselves & pejorative about those who face direct threats. You virtue signal but fail to Recognise the challenges of neighbours
