🎉 Big news for me: after 3+ incredible years yesterday was my last day @getclair. I'm still a *mega-fan* of the Clair team and mission, but it was time for me to move on to new challenges. So what's next? I'm super excited about this. I've started a new consultancy with a couple of friends and former colleagues called @SolenoidStudios that is already hitting the ground running. We're setting out to bring all the experiences we've gained in our combined *decades* of product, tech, and leadership work to teams looking to go from 0-to-1, or teams that have some great started and need help getting it to scale. One thing I'm so excited about with Solenoid is that we're not just building software (we are) but we're also helping build out full teams. Recruiting, hiring, managing, scaling, and then ultimately handing off to the client for the long-run. It's a model we've exercised a few times before with a lot of success. Plus, in addition to that work I'm also taking on a few advisory roles. So if you or your team could benefit from chatting through things a seasoned tech exec, or need some eyeballs and brain cells on tech strategy, SOC 2 efforts, etc., then drop me a line. Here's to a new chapter 🍻

I’m really proud that I hit my goal of reading every day for a year. I didn’t miss a single day! The most important part for me is the relaxation and enjoyment of it. Ive mostly been reading The Stormlight series by Branden Sanderson, which are like 1200 pages each 😅

WP Matt is a shockingly bad leader. Not only is he vigorously sabotaging his reputation WP community, but it’s clear he was too focused on his own greed to build valuable partnerships. It’s a reaction to seeing others succeed in places he should have positioned his org.

@jwage @matthewtrask @paulredmond @jordankdalton @ccovey14 Our scenario is a little more complex. We have “schemas” that we want to be able to version, but also query through an API. I don’t typically reach for non-relational DBs either but this seems like it might actually be an appropriate scenario.

@hotmeteor @matthewtrask @paulredmond @jordankdalton @ccovey14 I am not doing anything super complex in pgsql in my app, but pgsql does have the ability to query complex json like any other column in the schema.

Anyone have experience with document-based data stores? Something like Mongo, though I don’t even know if that’s the best option anymore. We have a cool application for it at work but I want to vet it with someone first. cc @paulredmond @jordankdalton

@matthewtrask @hotmeteor @paulredmond @jordankdalton @ccovey14 We used MongoDB and MySQL together and I always hated it. Having data in multiple places was always such a pain in the ass. Now, I use PgSQL for everything.
