Seems like if this budget really supported the people of Ontario you wouldn’t have to proceed with warnings to students to not speak out against it. Care to comment @PaulCalandra

@chrisglover . @fordnation & @PaulCalandra it will be difficult for students to celebrate their achievements when they have no prospects to further their education achievements beyond grade 12 because of you OSAP cuts. So they’ve been muzzled and unfunded.

Ford muzzles students at graduations. High school graduates who are priced out of college or university because of OSAP cuts will not be able to mention OSAP at their graduations. Ford's Minister of Education threatens Boards where students make any political statements at their graduations. #ONpoli #OntEd cbc.ca/news/canada/to…

@ColinDMello How do you say you’re getting rid of Trustees without saying you’re getting rid of Trustees @PaulCalandra ? You tell us you’re trying to figure out how to get around the Catholic and French constitution and charter restrictions.

@ColinDMello It is possible @fordnation to care about these things & transparency laws. FYI, I also care about public education and health care.

Premier Doug Ford defends his government’s FOI changes in the legislature claiming people in the province care more about the economy, jobs and dealing with Trump than transparency laws. #onpoli

@gator_gum Hey @PaulCalandra what kind of environment have you fostered that you need to send this out to Educators and School Board Staff? There is something very wrong with your Supervision if it is cultivating political, exclusive and disrespectful behaviour.

The Minister of Education has released a letter to all "Educators and School Board Staff" - he said about 2 "serious and pressing matters" 1) He seems concerned about graduations becoming "political events" which is a "real risk to student wellbeing" - he will use "every tool available" 2) He wants to remind staff that they're to uphold the highest professional and ethical standards. Social Media is not to be used to "promote violence" or for "racist commentary, stereotyping, or inappropriate or derogatory language" Some interesting statements here. What are your thoughts? #OntEd cc: @MaritStiles @ColinDMello

Ontario is actually paying two separate teams of lawyers to keep Doug Ford’s cell phone records secret - one for Ontario and another for the Premier personally. Both teams are basically making the same arguments and supporting each other’s points. It all seems a little unfair!
Isaac Callan@isaaccallan

NEW: How much public money has been spent shielding Doug Ford's calls from scrutiny? The government won't say, as it prepares a law that could nullify it's latest legal defeat. #Onpoli globalnews.ca/news/11733962/…

@ColinDMello Growing crime rates while @fordnation has been in power. Pandering to vandals, getting rid of FOI. After 8 years you can’t blame the last government anymore. Crime, Education, Healthcare it’s all on you Doug.

After nearly 8 years in power, Premier Doug Ford has become increasingly concerned about growing crime rates in his province. This has led to new calls for residents to essentially take self defence into their own hands: • Ford said its not unlawful to carry a knife • The province is advocating for pepper spray for personal use, warning that without them women could be at risk in Ontario • Ford is calling on homeowners with weapons to use them when under attack. #onpoli

Drug injection sites are a failed experiment that make communities unsafe and trap vulnerable people in addiction. Instead of standing by as addictions get worse, we’re funding treatment and lasting recovery while keeping our communities safe. news.ontario.ca/en/release/100…

@fordnation Safe injection sites can be a doorway to treatment and recovery. Shuttering them puts people suffering with addiction out on the streets and further from assistance and recovery. It also puts more drug paraphernalia on the streets and in the parks.
