So Iran denies to have fired the missiles aimed at Diego Garcia. But if not Iran, who could have an interest in trying to drag Europeans into the war with the implicit threat of long range ballistic misiles aimed at their capitals? Hint: Israel.

Unless an independent body of experts confirm this! I take this as a false flag. Israel will do and say anything to draw Europe into this illegal war which it started! Parliament must be given the final vote! bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Wrong, it's worse for the UK. Russian and Iranian missiles would be medium and long range intercontinental missiles, which are the ones that travel outside the earth's atmosphere. We do not have any defence against those at all. Germany is investing heavily in Israeli Arrow missile defence for precisely that reason.

@howardslee @Michael39771039 @afneil Which they've done in the most part with outstanding espionage tactics. The missile threats posed by the enemies they face in the region aren't the same as ours. Makes no sense to spend budget on it.

There was evidence that there were command and control centres under these buildings. The Iranian army undertook a precision strike, against the Israeli regime’s military infrastructure. Unfortunately, the Israeli regime embeds its military infrastructure amongst the civilian population, and uses it as human shields. The Iranian army operates to the highest morals and standards of international law, and any loss of civilian life is regrettable, but 100% due to the Israeli regime.
Arsen Ostrovsky@Ostrov_A

Iran is not even indiscriminately firing at Israel. They are intentionally firing at entire civilian population areas, including residential homes, kindergartens and hospitals. Each of these missiles and cluster bombs is a WAR CRIME!

@DVATW Well, if you want the UK to remain defenceless against Iranian or Russian ballistic missiles, keep sticking your head in the sand. The UK has no defence, zero against this type of threat. The missile was shot down by the Americans.

@ScotsmanFour20 @Michael39771039 @afneil Well, the tiny country of Israel has managed to defend itself relentlessly for 80 years against those that want to destroy it. They spend far less on defence than the UK. They have a much more sophisticated multi layered defence system.

Am I wrong for thinking there may be a chance that USA/Israel could be behind the missiles fired at Diego Garcia? The distance is coincidentally just far enough to reach London. This helps justify Trump’s actions and possibly bring Europe into the war Seems far fetched, but…

@Michael39771039 @afneil The UK has no capability to intercept medium range ballistic missiles at home or abroad. The missile was intercepted by the Americans. We are unable to defend ourselves against these types of missiles, whether it is Iranian or Russian

@afneil Andrew you wrong.Steve is right .what matters is if the UK has the capability to intercept missiles. It doesn't matter who has long range missiles .Israel ,US ,Turkey , Zimbabwe has long range missiles.if any of them send them to UK we will intercept them

@LBC Why is LBC constantly quoting that attack on our bases in Cyprus came from Iran? MOD stated the attack did not come from Iran a few days after the attack. What did Iran have to gain? When the attack was launched U.K. hadn’t announced it was going to allow USA to use our bases.

Khamenei was stopping the IRGC from Building IBMs, but you nasty people killed him, now in three weeks and during wartime IRGC managed to build and use intermediate ballistic missiles. Primary school level of analysis by Aaron here.
Aaron Bastani@AaronBastani

Khameini had a fatwa against intermediate missiles. They were purely defensive and for the region. Israel and the US killed him. The reality is Netanyahu and Trump have started something which could end in Tehran having nukes & icbms. A complete failure of statecraft.

Iran has kept the Straight of Hormuz toll-free for decades despite being vilified, sanctioned, and Isolated. Egypt charges $300,000 – $700,000+ per transit through the Suez Canal. Ultra-large container ships or tankers can exceed $1 million. Panama charges $150,000 – $450,000 per transit. Large Neopanamax ships cost up to $500,000+ to pass the Panama Canal. Turkey charges fees for the Bosporus Strait. Canada charges fees for the St Lawrence Seaway. The United States charges for the St Lawrence Seaway. But Iran is a bad country.

The amount of long term damage Netanyahu has done to Israel's public image since he came on the scene (all those years ago) is going to take forever to turn around. If that's even possible. He and Trump are so full of hubris they are like watching a Greek tragedy play out.
