Sorry, Oliver, but I'm one of the targets whom I've mentioned who have every reason to oppose the proliferation of AI. It's been used on my mind and body for several decades to debilitate me--all by remote. No, AI is not as new as Americans think. IMO, its use will prove to do far more evil than good. But, it's here and not going away. BTW, I'm 89, not 79, and, yes, I learn something every day.

@Hanakookie1 Learn some history, Hanakookie. The US took those islands, plus Cuba and the Philippines, from Spain militarily in the Spanish-American War. Only much later were the territories allowed to remain with the US or have their independence.

@MHarrisonW US territories voted to be US territories. The US did not claim them. The ppl in all US territories voted to be that and it was accepted by Congress. Taiwan has never voted to be a Chinese territory.

In fairness, China has a far better claim on Taiwan than the US has on Puerto Rico, Guam, the Marianas, US Virgin Islands and others. After WWII, the Chinese decimated Taiwan's native population, and the Chinese conquerors still rule. Ethnically, the CCR and Taiwan are very close.
